I love my flail. It's different than the 3pt attached version as it's a self powered unit, but the only drawback I have found is tall stuff tends to not get cut as well as a wider rotary since the mower is narrower.

    Otherwise I love it.

I'm getting the rotary for the Mini excavator.......

Got the big hog on the tractor, but flail style maneuverability is really handy. The rotary on the mini will have that.

Yeah I searched for the prices on flail mowers and I’ll be more likely to buy a ZT before I get one. Unless I hang my number on a sign to bring in the money to pay for it.

Hey the flails for the mini ex are a lot cheaper. Just don't think it will be as good in all of our briars.

Flails are only $1,400 & up. Look up excavator brush cutter on FB marketplace. The black/orange 36" are available everywhere in that price range.

I believe it's 16 years old; use it for the 24 inch & down wood mostly
Most of what we process is 30" plus on the Brute Force box wedge.

Next year it's back to the X27 & maul on the Idaho property. Will see how that goes. May need to buy another splitter.thumbnail_IMG_3978.jpg

Not taking any of the equipment. It stays in Illinois
    Except for the 661R, 661 standard carb, 500i,462cm, 462 R standard carb, 362,261,201T,194T,193T, ported 346xp that is:thumbsup:

So twice in the past few weeks birds have built a nest in this cubby below the steering wheel on my tractor. This happens quickly... I mean like I used the tractor Sunday (no nest) and then again today (Thursday) and the nest was there. I haven't seen the actual bird(s), but when I removed the first nest there was a single egg in it.
So... is this open space there for any good reason? Maybe used for some option or feature that my tractor doesn't have? Can I just stuff a piece of foam rubber in there to keep the pesky birds out??

    Parts all cleaned up.

Found 2 magnets in the flywheel had dislodged. Already had a flywheel that was repaired earlier.

Found vermin damage on a few of the wires on the harness. Easy fix.

Had to replace head from the side that had a bad head gasket. The thing puked so much oil, its a wonder it never caught fire.

Will have to cut the muffler apart and repack it. Sounds like a Harley with straight pipes.

I hope I'm not making a mistake by not changing the #2 HG. That side was bone dry.

Hopefully I can get it back together this weekend.

You got me thinking, wonder if I have some magnets dislodged on mine? It’s still acting up.

What voltage are you getting with PTO engaged?
