Damn. I love their single barrels. They did release two barrels of the Wheated barrel strength online Friday. I had two in my cart then the site crashed. Refreshed and they were sold out. Those bottles are so heavy you might need a second checked bag lol.

It's a cool place to visit for sure. Were you already out that way? I drove over from Reno and I felt like the drive to get there was one of the most boring I've ever done but like you said. Beautiful place to visit. I tried their wheat whiskey there and didn't love it but the Oat hit my palate just right

 

I was in Fallon for work. Yeah it’s a super boring drive although I like having mountains to look at.

Dammit I meant to try the oat while I was there and forgot to ask.

Anybody got a liquor store recommendation around Boone or Asheville, NC they would be willing to share? Going up there on vacation next week and don't have a good spot I know of there. Lots of breweries though!

There’s no intel to share. It’s the ABCs and nothing else. Boone literally has one store, Asheville has a handful.

 

that’s kinda what my google search said. If I come back through Atlanta I know a hot spot but didn’t know of anything up there.

 

NC controls distribution, price, and the stores. So there is almost zero variety, no one call sell booze except the state ABC stores, and not often is any one store significantly “better” than another in the county. Sometimes the main county store gets more goodies. But, the real intel is when is delivery day and which week does allocated come in if any. Typically you can call the store and they’ll give you most if not all of that info. If you’re in Asheville call any of the stores, ask which is the main store, and try that one.

 

Just got home from Asheville yesterday, only went to the ABC store downtown and it was nothing special. Grabbed a regular Bowman to justify the walk from Burial lol
