Yeah it’s so funny, my coworkers probably think I’m crazy.

And man you’ve been racking up the miles that’s awesome! Doing one on your KTM would be both epic and a hell of a workout lol

You got me beat! I typically ride weekends only since I commute by train and don't have a lot of time after work during the week. Last year I did a measly 6k miles but trying to improve on that this year!

That’s good to know, would be so awesome to get the cert but ultimately I just want to complete the ride and make it home alive

Hey that me! Lol I only ride when I feel like it and don't use it as main transport like you all do. Which I'm fine with haha

I'm currently in the sub 3K/year group. Work and family commitments take a lot of my time, as do other hobbies. I spend the better part of 30 years doing trackdays. To me, street riding is "fun" but it's not the same. While I can respect guys doing the Iron Butt and other similar rides, most of them are on interstates. And riding on an interstate is mind numbing (to me) on a bike. I like having my FJR since it still allows me to get some back road/twisty fun in, yet still allows me to take my wife to lunch (provided the temperature is between 73.71 - 74.28F, haha).
Sometimes I wish I rode more, but if I did, I'd be taking time from other things that are important to me.

Nope! It’s a 2016. Last of the air cooled. EFI, but no traction nanny or creature comforts.

Strongly gravitate to the Shinkos because they’re 1/3 the price of the Anakees.
And it’s not that far off: 110/80 instead of 100/90

Dang...didn't realize I was calling out a bunch of people in this thread lol. But even so....all of you guys are still more of an enthusiast/motorcyclist than the average rider with tons of miles under your belts, whether it's long distance rides, track days, dirt/trail riding, etc. you all may not be able to commute daily like me, or have other responsibilities that take precedence over riding riding, but you are all enthusiasts in some regard.

i was more so calling out the guys who hop on their sport bike/cruiser for a quick jaunt around town or to a local meet once a week, without exploring new places, different types of riding, working on improving skills. I know this sounds judgmental, I don't mean to be lol it just escapes my comprehension

man you must have bruised a LOT of egos hahaha

I used to think that way, but going out a few times per month for 100 miles or so has been where I’m at for years. I still can’t fathom a life without a motorcycle, but I just have too many other things going on. Even in my peak years, 5k was a solid season, and I think my record was maybe 8K. I’m always impressed by the riders who clock 10k +. Then again, I‘ve had a motorcycle every season but 1 since I was 19. (I sold my 1100 Katana and bought a sailboat.) I’ll be 57 this year, so it’s been a great run. Everything from liter bikes to Roadkings to Supermoto. I’m probably going to sell my XSR900 for something new this year. No matter how much you ride, it’s riding that’s important.

That's crazy to me. granted I'm much younger, with likely far less responsibilities so i get it. But as I stated above, you also have nearly 40 years of riding experience, and sounds like you've ridden everything so you are a seasoned enthusiast.

I will agree that ultimately how much you ride isn't as important as riding altogether. Again, not knocking the lower mileage peeps at all! Just not my speed lol. I'll make time for a ride wherever I can on days I don't commute

pics of the XSR pls...can't just drop that and not display

I have goals for riding, but it mainly is about getting comfy enough on the bike that I can use it for anything I'd like to. At some point I want to ride over to northern CA and see the redwoods/sequoias, take trips down to Utah and Arizona to see family, and eventually make a run over to Middle Michigan to meet a certain Mod's pupper! @LarryDangerfield

Decided I'll give this icon variant pro helmet a try see if I like it or not. Now let's just get the weather to cooperate with me.

To be honest if I only rode once a week or something I’d probably rather not ride at all. I’m not trying to call anyone out but I feel like riding that infrequently is kind of dangerous as riding a motorcycle is something I think takes continuous practice. It’s why I’m still riding to work even though driving would probably take around the same amount of time.

If I don’t ride for a few weeks due to vacation or sickness I feel really weird for the first few minutes I get back on the bike. I wouldn’t want that to be the case continually from just riding so infrequently.

So I went to another consultation for my teeth. Nuvia anyway the doc there said I have more options besides doing the 4 on 1 full upper. He said if he were me he would have a dentist bridge my back left of my mouth and replace the front teeth bridge. He said having your own teeth even crowned or bridged is better. Once you go with the 4 on 1 that’s it no more options. Then if there is ever a problem with the implants you might have to wear dentures. He also said that if I got implants to replace missing teeth then if I’m the future I wanted the 4 on 1 then I would have to get bone grafting because of the bone loss from the implant. Tons of information from him and pretty much talked me out of it. He said if I really wanted to do it he would But I should explore other less expensive options. So I made an appointment at a good local dentist to see what he can do for me. I just need to make the best decision for me at this time.

Im at the 4-6k per year. Slowly getting more, the more longer trips that I do. Sometimes commute to work, but these days I only go into the office 2x per week. If its sunny and above 60, I'll most likely ride in. Plus my commute is only 12 miles each way 15 min in, 25 min home.

I took off the week of Memorial Day. Planning on heading up to PA to try the BDR-X and maybe hit a cool state park in Forksville. @BkerChuck and @FreshOldTaco are welcome to meet up with me. I suck at making plans, so if i see sun in the forecast, im going and hoping for the best.
