You gotta at least give the reasons why for each. Need the feedback to know how to zero in on the right bike.

I ordered a shorter windscreen today. My old one gets in my line of sight when I'm slouched over, meaning most of the time. I keep it on with the projected cicada explosion about to occur. lol

Ok, well now you have homework. Get on google and get us pics of 10 bikes that you like the looks of, and why you like them. Then we need 10 you don't like, and why. Gotta have data to solve the problem!

She better let you play with her boobs. That's the only acceptable excuse for not doing your homework!

No it’s not, you live in the middle of nowhere without traffic or twisty roads. I’m lane splitting through heavy traffic or riding spiritedly in the mountains where I need to be in my A game.

I loved riding from my first ride on a cousin's mini bike. Felt like flying and it was probably only 20 mph. Once I got my first street bike and license I loved just taking off and riding with no goal in mind. It became like therapy for me. Always improved my mood. Back in 97 a friend and I rode to Laconia Bike Week, almost 450 miles and the longest ride I'd ever done. Loved it. When I got my first FJR in 2012 and joined a forum I attended a ride to eat almost 100 miles away and met several serious long distance riders and my first IBR competitor. Tried my first long distance rally a few months later and was hooked. After that first 1000 mile weekend I needed to see just what I could do.

I've been around 18-25k miles per year ever since. I commute every day I possibly can and my preferred method of travel is by motorcycle. Every rider is different and my numbers are just that, mine. You guys ride as much or little as you choose. Just make sure to practice and be aware your skills slip when you don't so please be cautious after a spell of not riding. Ride your own ride at all times.

Toughest challenge I ever tried was simply riding every day for as many days as I could. 10 miles or more, on the street. Rain, heat, even snow once or twice for 680 days without fail until Mother Nature dumped enough snow to put a stop to it. I can tell you in all honesty that that was tougher than doing a 1000 mile day.

I am a fair weather rider. Although being retired and having more time I plan on racking up some miles this summer. Fuck riding in the rain!!

I didnt take it as calling out or judgmental. We all have likes and dislikes, I couldnt really care less about carving corners anymore. There is always somebody faster and usually smoother, even when I was pretty quick, there were guys who could dust my ass in a second, and guys who could dust their ass in a second. I still like corners, but I dont give a shit about dragging my pegs. I always got more of an adrenaline rush out of a $500,000 purchase order than I ever did on a motorcycle. The Dragons Tail was a huge disappointment, so many motorcycles it was more a pain in the ass than fun. The old highway 666 (now 191 and 491) was my idea of a fun ride. Saw one BLM truck and some cat on a ST1100 in two hours of riding, shit load of corners, nobody riding up my ass trying to drag a knee and no deer in the highway.

I love travel on a bike, every fuel stop three states away from where your license plate says your home state is invites conversations with people, some young, some old, but its always the same. I wish I was riding with you, then you get to hear how they had a GL1100 or a Hydra Glide back in the day. My wife and I rolled into Jacob Lake for a bathroom break, had a room at the Kaibab Lodge maybe 30 minutes away on the north rim. I was about to piss myself and didnt think I could make it another minute. I pulled in between two tour buses, hopped off and made a bee line to the shitter. Came out and could not even see my wife for all the old guys who piled out of both of the tour buses. Probably 20 of them, I had to actually push thru to get back to the bike. My wife looked like she was about to bolt. LOL Two were squatting down trying to decide if it had six cylinders and how big 1800 cc's were in cubic inches. She took off to the john and I got to answer questions, how much fuel it held, what MPG, what was the weight capacity, Intercom? Are you wearing electric jackets, how many miles in a day. Good questions, no dumb asses in the bunch.

Was 21 F the next morning when we left, we spent about an hour at a hamburger joint the next day talking to some German guys who had rented Harleys and were riding to Zion. Great memories.

We all ride our own ride, none better or any purer than the others.

You're gatekeeping all wrong! Talk like that will encourage the peasants to ride, and then there will be more bike awareness, and competition in the market, and voters asking for lane filtering to be legal, and.... wait.... I like this plan. Keep doing this!

    Love it! Well said!

A lot of coworkers or non riders have told me that I can't be seeing much on a long distance ride like that. Have you ever seen the sun setting in your mirrors with a near full moon starting to pop up in front of you as you're crossing a bridge over a wide river? I have and it was magical. How about a coyote standing just off the roadside a few feet into the scrub grass real early in the morning? Being 4 states away from home and running into someone you know and hadn't seen in years? Riding has given me so much I may have never had otherwise.

    I'm getting bike antsy..

A few weeks ago I was shooting offers out on the vitpilens, the last week or so I've been debating if I sell the F800GS and get into a sport tourer.. spent a lot of time looking at newerish Tracer 900 GTs and the new GSX-S1000-GX+. Sexiest bike I've seen in a long time, weirdly.

Friend in my area has the Suzuki and loves it. Raves about how versatile it is.
