FYI, we broke 3 thread chasers when mine were installed. Something to keep in mind.

How old is that thing? Only lifts 5500 lbs? In a brief interwebs search I can't find any modern 2 post lifts rated lower than 9000. I don't know much about these things though.

The one plate has a circle-R of 1947. Many of us couldn't even lift our Tacomas with that rating.

I didn't see that the first time. And in 1981, that would've been an expensive tool for the average backyard mechanic.

They are built with excess safety margins. No big deal.

This makes me glad I installed mine right away!

Haha! The 4Runner weighed in at 5520 the one time I weighed it. I had the sleeping platform in, tools and recovery gear, but no other cargo.

The "related products" certainly look interesting. :anonymous:

Mine weighed at 5520, too! Filled the tank, then 3 1/2 miles to the scale.

I'm so glad you said that! I was kicking it around, but I was looking for some reassurance that it would work. :D

Another perfect pairing would be me wearing that model's ass as a hat.

We must both have the perfect amount of modifications and gear.

Tell you what...I'll meet you there too. It's only a mile or so difference in distance to South Park Ave going through FdL.

My curse followed me on this project and we hit a lot of snags. Still have a sheared bolt to drill out of the frame and a couple other things to button up.

RCI sent a lot of odd and extra hardware that didn't seem to fit anywhere it was supposed to. All different sizes too. Really glad I ordered a replacement set of hardware ahead of time in case anything was lost in transit.

But I gotta say @rubbersidedown (Dean) is the most patient and upstanding guy. When the going got tough he got right in there too. It is very much appreciated!

My 4R was 2 yrs old when the sliders were installed. The threaded factory frame holes were somewhat rusty and would not accept the bolts. My buddy had to clean up the threads with thread chasers. They were so bad he broke 3 of them.

I wonder if using an actual tap would have been a better option.
