So i haven't played for around 3 years or so, i played for almost 5 years daily (worked at a course) and the last set of irons i played were callaway big berthas, rch-90 graphite. (also played some king cobras)

well im currently looking to start up again and was wondering if anyone out there had some suggestions for a new set. I hit the range the other day with a set of loaner clubs still got the swing just need the clubs

well taylormades might bee 900 just for the irons you should look around for a used set. adams are very forgiving and not too expensive

what do you have for woods, wedges and putter? also something to consider that has come a long way in 3 years is a hybrid, 2, 3 and even 4 irons are becoming obsolete

if by gimmick you mean hybrids all brands make hybrids now. and if you start playing you will see why the pros use them too...cause they hit like an iron and can carry 200plus off the fairway...cleveland are an excellent club too but not cheap ......just a thought i wonder why there isnt a golf thread on here yet:rolleyes:

Titleist is not good choice unless you have a very low handicap. Their irons are not very forgiving. Same thing with Mizuno...avoid these brands.

I have played Ping G10's for the last 3 years and find them very easy to hit.

As stevenstaco noted above, I would highly recommend you buy an iron set with hybrids. 90% of amateur golfers are better off with a 3 and 4 hybrid rather than a 3 or 4 iron. Some folks I play with even have 5 iron hybrids.

Personally I play with 2, 3, 4, and iron hyrbids, and a traditional cavity-back 5-iron. My hybrids are Cleveland Hibore xls's.

i have a $125 dollar set of tommy armour irons and have never lost a game to my boss. however i am good at golf

bottom line just go to the range and try some different clubs, buy the ones that feel good and help you get that nice natural swing. ive always liked the pings but if i recall they are kind of pricey

and stay away from the oversize heads unless you are horrible and miss the ball alot. they tend to screw you in the long stuff. more surface area to get caught up and they are heavier.
