Hello All. So, I am currently I have my eye on a used 2022 TRD OR Tacoma. It appears to be in very good shape (will have it looked at by our mechanic), has leather seats, sunroof, BSM, LED Headlights, headlights, bed mat, 1 year left on Toyota warranty and Extang Solid Fold Tonneau cover. Current mileage is approx 18k and does not have a record of prior accidents. Is 46k reasonable? I ask as it's getting very close in price to a new, albeit, less equipped TRD OR.
I've found some good help here on the forum, so I thought I would ask as I am kinda out of my league here.

If this isn't the proper place to ask this question, I apologize.

    Thanks all.

46k? Yikes! I paid slightly less than that out the door for the same exact truck. I'd say max of 40K. I think KBB says probably around 39K

I got a sticker and some cool valve stem caps...
Depends where u live. I say no. I paid 45k for a new (12 miles) 23 trd or premium in January. Jbl, leather, moonroof, etc. Was like 2700 off sticker... Midwest life.

My new '22 trd offroad was $45k otd. $46k for a trade in with that mileage is stupid. $38-40 imo

Even with such low mileage 46k is wild.

Just buy a brand new one and benefit from the warranty. That alone is worth the small price difference

I think I paid $43k out the door for my 2022 OR with all the features you listed way back in June of 2022. So no, $46k does not make sense.

Well it looks like the overwhelming consensus is -- overpriced. I thought the same, but wasn't sure. Especially in today's used car market. So the hunt continues. Thanks again all. I very much appreciated it.

That sounds high. I paid $45K for my new TRD OR DCLB with all the bells and whistles in 2022.

you might check a few more used,,, it doesn't hurt to shop, but in that year/price range, I think you will find new is a better option.
Keep in mind (before all this craziness) some folks would buy vehicles with extremely high resale, shop the F out of them for a deal, drive them for 2-3 years and sell them for what they paid and sometimes more. I'm guessing the Tacoma being on that list, but I don't know, this is my first.

That’s about what I paid for my truck new with same features. I’d say run!

I did happen to find another, it's a 2023 TRD OR with 11k. It has LED Headlights, Tech Package, Paint Protection, Bed Light, soft Tonneau cover, and bed step. This one is for 41k and seems a bit more reasonable (in today's market). BTW I am in the Wash, DC area. The only things I would be missing from the first one I mentioned is: Moonroof (would be nice, but not a big deal), leather seats (don't care about), heated seats (really nice, but can get those after market I supposed). I do prefer the color of the first one, but don't mind the color of the 41k either.

If you look at older models, be sure to look at the undercarriage for corrosion. The road salts and suck wreck the frame and components

@pMill '23 models are only out of production for a few months. There are many to be had. I wouldn't settle for anything less than what you consider to be your unicorn, and you'll find it. No regrets. A $300 plane ticket and a cab ride can get you anywhere in the country to go pick up your baby. Keep looking, you'll find it. Best wishes,

Honestly even shipping, I've now shipped two cars to me, about 1k open trailer to go from Florida to KS. You can hire an inspection through companies like lemon squad and use escrow services like escrow.com

Point being that i agree, don't limit yourself to just local as there are options and you shouldn't settle.

Thanks again all for the info AND support. @Spoon - thanks for the encouragement (I need it)!! This has been quite the struggle. I will look at shipping as a possibility. However, what happens if the truck is not what you expected (assuming you did not see it in person)? We did just get back from seeing the car above (the original truck (46K) at the dealership. It may not be that truck but I am absolutely sold on the color, trim, and options. I mentioned to my wife -- a few grand less and it would be an instant buy. It is crazy wonderful (in my opinion). My wife was halfway into writing a check for it before I told the salesman we would have to think about it.

Dealership probably paid less than $35,000 for that truck.
