Cold and wet does put a damper on a lot of things.

We are having quite a few bees so far. The catmint is blooming and they seem to love it. So far I have seen a hummingbird 3-4 days. An American Goldfinch showed up yesterday on the feeders. Early for them. Usually not here until the sunflowers are blooming late summer.
There were 6 squirrels yesterday fighting over the corn.
My little acre is pie shaped. Small in the front and close to 70 yards across the back. I let the back 1/3 grow wild with native grasses (water here is our most expensive utility). I only mow a trail around it until everything has seeded out in the fall, then mow it all. Foxes show up when it gets high and chase the rabbits.

It’s going to be a beautiful mid 70s day with mostly sun. I’ll need to water my veges good since I’m heading out to fish and camp a couple of days. My better half and grandbabe tell me I’m getting grouchy and need some alone time…LOL!
Have a glorious day and get you some sun!

    Morning all:

OK, interesting, and good luck at establishing a new hive.
On my way to my friend's funeral, I saw a beekeeper tending hives with a full suit on, we have a few people in the area who have hives.
We had quite a few small apple orchards in the area when I was young, and a huge cherry orchard, lots of honeybees, almost all of those orchards are now gone along with an enormous orchard just South of here, don't know if things like that are a contributing factor to the declining honeybee population, probably doesn't help any.
If you need any carpenter bees I can send you some, I have lots of them!

Enjoy! I agree...sometimes we all need to connect with creation and have alone time. Sunshine and those oxygen producing trees are a great way to refresh and reset. Catch'em up!

We have a lot of sea grapes around our place in St. Pete and they are loaded with bees.

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Lounging with some coffee still, and if it's not going to rain this morning I will go mow already. Supposed to have storms at some point.
Good luck with those bees @Sturgfish ! We need more bees! We've never had a lot here, but we do have some "wild bees" that like to use the goldfish pond tank for refreshment.
And, @ImpulseRed008 , Carol loves her new "100" which is really firm. My "85" on the new bed is MUCH more firm than the old, so I dialed it down last night, and - nope. Back up and I'll find the new number.
And it was a fairly successful hangar day with the old motor. SIX parts came off! That's more than in a long time. Getting the intakes out of the way meant I could finally get to the fasteners for the cylinder shrouds - sort of. And, I think the designers were paid by the fastener, because there even more hiding! But look, you can actually see a whole cylinder head!

Good morning. Back to the cardiologist to have my heart measured by a stress test. No caffeine and drink plenty of fluids leading up to my appointment at 12:30. I see a Dunkin stop on my way home from the doctor. One more appointment after today.
