    Hey all,

I've searched a ton and can't quite find exactly what I need, forgive me if it's posted somewhere. I have run the gamut of installs to upgrade to entune 3.0 - from a used sienna unit that wasn't at all what I wanted, to a 2020 non-navigation unit, all the way to a 2020 nav unit. My truck is a 2018 OR 6mt that came with nav, and after hearing the non amplified version I had to upgrade to the nav unit to get the built in amp. I also added a key amp. I also used the auto harness dot com conversion kit. After installing the amp and installing/reinstalling to get everything to work (I must've banged into the add a fuse for my dash cam, the wireless charger and display wouldn't work, but the fuses were good), the rear camera won't work. It did work before I installed the amp. I say all that to show that I have indeed been fiddling with shit and am unsure where to start.

I DO get a beep when I reverse, and the backup lights do come on. But no change in the head unit display at all. I've confirmed I get voltage coming in to the head unit from the grey wire when I shift to reverse(which changes to a purple wire on my aftermarket harness). I checked for voltage at the camera harness under the tailgate, and got one pin to light up the test light faintly (I'm guessing 6v as I've read elsewhere that's what it runs on). It looks like a black wire going to the camera that has voltage, but not the red.

    Any help would be appreciated!

I had issues with my backup camera after I switched to an aftermarket head unit in my 2022. The camera would work sometimes but other times it was just a black screen while reversing. When the camera worked the image was a bit noisy. The problem went away entirely when I reorganized the nest or wires and adapters behind the head unit. I suspect the camera wires were picking up electrical noise from the surrounding wiring. Not sure if it would help in your situation though.

So many variables in play here, it's kind of hard to give specific advice. Good luck with your troubleshooting.

As I read many (as in lots and lots) of threads seems like there are an awful lot of issues when people swap out
head units, add lights, ... anything electrical... I'll leave mine stock.

almost every time this happens, it leads back to some sort of modification. Of course OP included that, but many do not, it's just a generic "my X stopped working, any ideas?" and it almost always leads back to where they were last.
I am not against them, but do weigh Risk V Rewards.

Totally understandable, which is why I included I'd been fiddle f*cking with stuff. It worked previous to the amp install.

Here's a specific question that could help me: can anyone shed light on where the harnesses connect to each other for the camera. I'm under the impression there are a couple connections.

Also, I get no black screen or any reaction whatsoever from the head unit when I shift

i would first suggest instead of relying on a test light, to purchase a digital multimeter, to display the voltage you're working with, instead of guessing at the intensity of the light.

Yeah, I have one, I was just poking around looking for voltage and used it since I didn't have a lot of time. I work at a remote lodge and needed to head out. Wanted to confirm there is at least some voltage going that way.

Good point though, I'll put the multimeter to it and find out exactly. I was using this diagram to give me an idea of the wiring colors:
