Yeah. About a month ago, a young jerk in a Mercedes was staring at his phone and slammed into my truck while I was at a red light.
This little prick had the nerve to tell me he was worried because he had been saving money to buy his dream car, meanwhile, he slammed into me.

This last photo shows where he curled up my frame. The body shop told me they would be happy to perform a frame swap. And I had researched, the technicians at this shop have done plenty of frame swaps. Hell, there were at least 3 Tacomas in their employee parking lot, so I felt more comfortable with these guys. But the damage amount went over $23K!

So….
Me & the wife are going to have to shop for a new Toyota. Sucks!!!
But, fortunately I am fine. And I’m getting a nice little bit of change to throw at our next Taco(or 4Runner).

Some stupid kid hit mine, no insurance, no license, no common sense & zero driving skills. I have a securty video of it. My truck was parked in my spot.

Just joy riding around where he shouldn't have been in the first place. Hit my next door neighbors Nissan, also.

Father, mother & uncle came & started arguing with Teresita & I. Mother kept calling me poppy & her momma. Total disrespect!

I told Teresita to stand behind me because I was ready to slug this jerk. Told me he would fix it 'cuz he has a body shop.

The card he gave me said 'security guard'. Bad number & fake address. Called the sheriff, he came 2 hours later. They were long gone, of course.

Mine drives fine, but looks like crap. Like I said, I feel your pain. I love my truck, I bought it brand new off the car carrier with cash. No accidents in 40+ years.

Oh well, life goes on. Sorry it happened to you too, buddy.

 

UGH..what a bunch of crooks. That's in a way worse than the Mercedes assholes here, at least in my case the dick who hit me had insurance. Had my brother in law not stopped me, he'd also have gotten a free trip to the concrete floor.

Thank you all for the concern & well wishes.

wifey & I argued this thing for about 2 weeks trying to get his insurance to fix my truck.
They wouldn’t budge.
Finally, we went through ours and they just completed their total repair estimate and as mentioned, it was just too high.
Believe me, I wanted to have it repaired.
I implored them to fix it.
But… it’s just not going to happen.
Things will work out.
