    Morning all...my week so far:
18 holes Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
    9 holes yesterday.
Farm pond fishing earlier today. Not 1 bite!
Cut and trim grass today when it dries.

Mimi told me "you better sit your ass down"

I will when I get the grass finished.

 sixtys/wannabes/master cooks. I'm leaving early tomorrow morning for a week-long driving trip and need to cut the grass before I leave. The only problem is that it's been wet, and will likely stay that way. Cloudy gloom has hung over us for the past 3 days. My crystal ball sees a second deck cleaning in my future...

    Afternoon all:

String trimmer is getting a workout, yesterday in an area behind the 2 car garage, today an area behind the small shed plus mowed some of it, now off to the large garage, then there's the pond and the perimeter of the yard, at least it's perfect weather to do it.

Well, I think the hummingbirds have arrived... Gotta wonder if the heavy weather in the south delayed them. I was beginning to worry.

@Travlr I saw my first hummingbird earlier this week I have all my feeders out now and working on water fountains for them :fingerscrossed: it brings in a few more. Also planting numerous plants to give them a choice

We've had them here for over a month, but the big rush has been very slow this year. The heavy spring migration has been very slow coming. We go through about fifty pounds of sugar a year, so we've been wondering where they were.

Lot's of feeders, and good, clean sugar water changed daily.

No red water because the dye is bad for the birds, change often and clean the feeders because there is a black fungus that can kill them. If you ever see a hummer that has its tongue sticking out and it can't retract it, the bird likely has been getting contaminated water. We only fill the feeders enough that they are empty in one day. The water could go two days, but longer is taking a chance.

We get hundreds during the migrations, spring and fall. We can fill five or six large feeders to the top and they won't last the entire day. During the summer between migrations we have a resident colony of probably 15/20 (?) birds and we only see maybe four or five at any one time, heavier traffic in the evenings. In the slow times we only fill the feeders enough to show maybe two inches of liquid. We also have a couple of Oriole feeders for them, using the same sugar water. We also get the occasional Tanager that comes to them, house finches constantly, and we've seen other birds.

The bane of our existence with all these feeders is the wasps. We haven't found a way to control them effectively. But the wasps attract King Birds.

We had a house finch for three years that kept coming back. We knew it was the same one because it would sit on a perch and suddenly do a backflip, about every ten seconds when it was on a feeder. Of course we called it Flip. Once in awhile we get Hummers that we can recognize, and they might return consecutive summers, maybe even three.

Great advise. Wasps do eat mosquitos.

Good morning. Came out of the appointment with a second scan request. So, Monday and Tuesday I am off to the imaging center. Today is a graduating party for my brothers son. He just graduated from Indiana University with honors. Going to be a fun day even with the rain all day.
