    Bought em off @HoboDave

At the pool now but when I'm back at my truck I'll see if there is a brand name. They're not Matrax.

I'm interested in learning your reasoning for your pick.

    Let's discuss.
    I'll start.

Military service sidearms are kind of a weapon of last resort.
It's either a backup or it's what they issue you when your job doesn't allow you to carry something more, um... effective.
Maybe you're assigned to a crew served weapon or you're in a support job of some kind where you conceivably might have to defend yourself.
The number of enemy personnel dispatched with service pistols is, to say the least, derisory.

    Colt 1911A1

Let's leave aside the low magazine capacity and non-NATO interoperability.
Which guaranteed it would be replaced at some point.
The wonder is that it took so long.
Which goes to show that service pistols are not exactly high priority items

Anyway, let's judge it on its own terms, in its own time.
Do you like SA, hammer fired handguns?

    Beretta M9

Passed with flying colors all the tests that could be thrown at it.
    DA/SA, hammer fired.
    Yeah or nay?

    SIG M17/18

Was not subjected to the same second stage tests to destruction that the Beretta endured.
The adoption of this handgun was, to say the least, irregular.
    I wonder why...
Striker fired, therefore a simplified manual of arms.
    Like it?
