Got the double cab out on some trails and ~350 miles of washboard roads in Big Bend this past week. Only issues were my tailgate wasn't installed properly after the body shop had it in 2021. With all the downtime it's had between then and now the bolt held on loose until this trip. Had to steal a seat bolt because I couldn't think of another bolt that would fit. Also had the driver side diff mounting arm lose it's center bolt. I've had to retorque it before so that was odd. But at least the skid plate saved the bolt for me.

This was also the first trip alone with my girlfriend before she moves overseas for a bit. She enjoyed the trip and I didn't push anything extreme on her like I've seen friends do. So we chose the only primitive off-road campsite with a composting pit toilet nearby. And we showered every few days. Things went well and it was the last week before triple digit temps and the summer begins.

 

scored a free 30" light bar this week. Fabed up some brackets.

oh man -- they only have 20k miles on em. Look brand new!!!

 

The milage on the 4runner we just got doesn't match the dash -- it (like many of them) broke a tooth somewhere and the trip reset jams it all up. We knew this buying it.

We bought a cheap replacement - mostly just want to be able to track trip; and managed to kill the fuel pump while swapping it out. lol.

JK JK - but yes - the fuel pump decided it's tired (no surprise). Hit the tank with a hammer and she started. So she's getting a fuel pump next.

It had a lot of shop work done on it over it's life and wasn't abused persay - but like anything this old - it needs some love to go play on the trails.
