I've seen a few good light bars but i'm looking for something simple that I can mount myself that won't break the bank. Any suggestions?

Front mounted, between the headlights, nothing crazy. Something low profile.

Most light bars are pretty easy to mount, you should be able to do it yourself. Have you looked at the Avid Off-Road light bars?

You seen my custom made bar, right? Can't get much simpler design that work and bolts onto the cross member below... Some welding to the cross member on my '10 as it was two piece where as the '05 was one piece.

Here is a picture of the N-Fab one. I like the fact you don't need to drill holes and it is clean and simple in design. Not my truck in the picture but you get the idea.

I am 99% sure this is the one I am going with.

    Hope this helps.

Here's mine. I don't have any pictures of the plates that mount to the frame horns, but it's pretty simple to do.

And an idea for your license plate if you don't want to drill into your bumper.

Two bolts for each side, on the frame. Mount the bracket to the frame, mount the bar to the bracket. I'll get a picture at some point today, but it's very straight forward. If you go out to your truck, and find the two front facing bolts, with the nuts on the front side of the frame... those are them.

    Nice truck :)

Thanks, I was curious as to where... my custom bar bolts onto the lower frame crossmember, which seemed to be the obvious mount... require 4 holes drilled (2 on each side). I will tell you that the metal Toyota uses is good and strong, it was an effort to drill those holes!

I bought and installed this new Westin safari bar designed for the Taco. Very sturdy, easy install, and only $130 on eBay.
