In reality that would be a good spot to put a sandwich you want to keep warm. The top of the transmission is typically rather hot. :bananadead:

Ooooookay. That's the kind of feedback I was hoping for... "don't put foam rubber there cuz it gets really hot!". So I'll remove the piece that I stuffed in there yesterday :anonymous:. I hadn't used the tractor since I put the foam in place, so no harm done. I'll have to cut a piece of sheet metal or hardware cloth to block off the opening instead.. :hattip:

    Busy day with mowers.

Sold 1 unit right after I got home from grabbing my next project.

    Revolving door, I guess.

For you folks in the great white north, it’d be a good place to stick your feet in the winter when you’re plowing the snow!

Not tractors, chainsaws, or census, just flowers. But I didn't want to start a new thread just for this and thought some here might find it interesting. We received I don't know how many thousands upon thousands of dollars of flowers at work the other day. The thing is probably 25 to 30% will never get planted and be thrown in the trash because we don't have help necessary to do it. On top of that probably 40 to 50% of them that do get planted will end up dying because we don't have the help to keep them watered. Got to love working for the government.PXL_20240517_160316427.MP.jpg

Set a few landscape stones this morning, got my line laid out, base height set & ready to do the big part.

By this time sun was around the edge & that was all of that it was gonna get for today.
While I'm on this medicine that says stay out of direct sun...... Tomorrow is gonna be mowing day in long sleeves & big hat. Yay.

You have no idea. This is minuscule compared to the quarter of a million of equipment we purchased this year, that the superintendent didn't want. So it sits in storage while we use 20-year-old equipment that breaks down all the time, thus requiring parts to be purchased and hours spent working on it by our mechanic. The waste is beyond belief.

I know that anything G-ment touches turns to absolute shit. Sadly the "if we don't spend it, we lose it" mentality is ingrained in the moronic management.

Well started fixing as best I can with the B7100 a neighbors road to their house. Big wash from Saturday, filled in the 6-8" ruts. Bearly beat the 1 storm home we had with another .62 inches of rain. Going back this week to see if I can make it better it's a looong road up hill both ways :rofl:.

Unfortunately if you don't spend all the budget then the next year they say well since you didn't need all that money last year so you'll get less this year. Generally try to stock up on non perishable items that will definatly be needed in the near future.

Went to mother's today and trimmed back her hedges from the walkway. Not too bad with the b&d battery operated hedge trimmer I got for free from my previous employer. Discovered that 1 of her vents under the house is MIA next trip over there this week I'll pick 1 up and install.
Neighbor who I filled in the ruts yesterday emailed the wife and saw it was a bigger job than my little B7100 could get done in a timely manner, had a guy coming over to see what he could do.
No hard feelings on my side less work for me:D.
Got home and started on my driveway:thumbsup:. All the silt from the road bond just gathers at my driveway.

I have some stainless steel screen identical to your picture left over from a recent project. But that stuff is hard to work with... it will easily cut you up.
Instead I decided to use 1/4" hardware cloth... left over from a project from many years ago.

    Replaced Foam Rubber:

    With Hardware Cloth:
