Just picked up a set of X-Runner rims. Need to find the center caps. I believe these are Part# 42603-AD040, please let me know if that's correct.

Good Morning Stalkers. Painting...ugh. Wait for the winter months when there's less to do.

    I hope you like pictures

I had a hell of a weekend (in a good way) with some unbelievable suprises and also just frickin' busy. But the weather was amazing and everything went off without any problems. Bike ran well. Now, I'm exhausted.

Saturday: Birthday party for an 80 year old. Not your average 80 year old however. He's known internationally in a couple of different universes. Motorcycle's, (yup, use to rtune Ducati's and converted to Guzzi 30 years ago because he considers the motors poetry in motion. Farm boy thing ) and airplanes (Award winner on vintage planes and builds his own as well). At 80 he's got two underway in his hangar in his backyard which also houses his machine shop, as he retired as master machinist from GM when he was 48. Do the math. It's how he's been able to become so accomplished in what for others are merely hobbies. And he's done it all with out once singing his praises. He's just the guy who's always got time for your questions, and responds slowly, clearly, and with the correct answer. He's an incredible dude. As a result he had nice turnout for his 80th: a Cod Fish boil on a farm in sunny Indiana on a beautiful weekend in May. Have the guests rode in on Motorcycles, the other half flew in in their airplanes, some vintage, others not. Ok. a few arrived by cage, too.

1934 Waco. 1 of a kind. 6 were built, this is the only one remaining. When built in '34 it was sold to the Gov't of Columbia and delivered with a machine gun on the cowl. Runs a Pratt/Whitney 9 cylinder rotary. Original.

quite simply one of the most beautiful machines I've ever seen, of any sort. The guy who keeps this plane in the air for a living is the same guy that I bought my GRiSO from, Chucks son. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. And it's why I have no issue buying a used machine from either of them. 2 of my motorcycles came from these guys for that reason. They're better than new when they sell them. Literally. I know @Tacoma Mike knows what I mean. Most of you do.

this is an RV-6, what the owner calls his Ferrari. And yours truly got to 'fly' it on Saturday. Had no plans of such a thing occuring. Never been in a small craft before. I had control of the plane at 6500 ft at 200mph. Pilot pointed to things and gave instructions on how I would get the plane there. Amazing Day.

Another Waco. (pronounced Walk-oh) 1930. Solid steel prop.

    Art work.

Here's a view of Chucks house, where the air strip terminates into his back yard.

Couple of Chucks other projects. Thats a 1938 Monocoupe 90a he got from Owls Head in the corner. Wing is hanging from the rafters above it. It was 'too new' for them and they were willing to part with it in exchange for a 'gift'

    upload_2024-5-20_10-11-51.png

what a day. I still can't get the smile off my face. And that was just Saturday. On Sunday was the DGR. We ended up with 196 bikes and raised almost 40 grand.

I did double duty promoting my friends bike hitch, so I towed it down to be able to display it. Motow was one of the main sponsors for the Indy event. Would rather have ridden but, that's what friends are for.

    upload_2024-5-20_10-20-29.png

I'm exhausted. Thanks for indulging me! now I gotta get to work. I'll let my Motobros sign off on my behalf...

I didn't know you were riding from Monument Circle downtown. We'll be staying 5 minute walk from there at the Hilton

There's a new (3.5 year) Triumph dealer in Indy, downtown at the Sun King brewery. Anymore, any sort of 'community' moto events in town start or end there (sometimes both) A component of the DGR is always lots of photos, and the ride always has a stop somewhere. We always work monument circle into the route is some form or another. This year the group photo was taken there. We were there for an hour. (too long)
