lol, before i bought my truck i was a day late on buying a blue 04 sti w/ the gold bbs's and it had 78k on the engine. The guy got 13k for it (i was pissed then realized carrying sheetrock/plywood/tools in an sti would have sucked).

Never really looked into the evo's, i would assume they would be around the same price, since they're very similar.

Haha thanks man. The nice thing about the hatches is they are pretty stealthy... especially silver/silver. At the same time... they can look very aggressive if you park next to a regular Impreza 2.5! Plus they are more practical than the 04-07 sedans.

I'd check NASIOC in the classifieds sections... always see plenty of STIs around 15k. If you could, go with an 05... the 04s didn't have some immobilizer or something like that (don't know exactly :( ) and they are way more prone to theft than the 05s. Not really a huge deal if you go to an aftermarket alarm, but quite a few guys in the Toronto area have had their 04s stolen.

    Im getting there......
Hey man I own a Porsche gt3 r/s in addition to my tacoma and I would highly recommend it for a very capable track car and yet still a daily driver (depending on your criteria). Also my father has a 911 turbo s and a Audi RS6. Out of the three the audi is very daily driver friendly (as it is a larger luxury sedan) but holds its own on the track. Its biturbo v10 rivals my porsche on the track (suffering slightly in handling). The turbo s has both beat with 540 hp though. For lower price cars look at audi s4 's (i like the wagon version) and also ive seen good prices on older sti's. I think european would be better worth for your money personally (call me biased). I also would recommend porsche and audi over bmw or mercedes (due to available track friendly cars and build quality (i owned a bmw 750 il with disasterous results)). My mother does have a 2009 s65 AMG and it is extremely powerful but not track worthy. I assume all itailian makes would be to swayed against daily drivers for you.

Also maybe look at the lexus isf also it is comparable to s4 's.

Please feel free to ask any questions (i am very familiar with other models in the porsche and audi line ups)

That's sick, I'd pick that up in a heartbeat. There was an '04 on NASIOC that needed some engine work, it was in Chicago, guy wanted $8k... sold in a day.

Our 09 STI has about 19,000km on it... which is what, 11,000 miles? Not too bad!

Damn thats crazy. You have to post pics of the gt3...thats my dream car.

Btw dont judge bmw by their 7-series, they are terrible. All the other bmw's that i've driven are great.

It's amazing to me how interchangeable Tacoma and Subaru guys are. Subaru is definitely my vote. I wish I could have both. I'm considering getting rid of my FJ and getting a slightly older STi so I can save some money on monthly payment.

If you can find a Supra from 93 to 98 for under 20gs I'll choose that.

Can't go wrong with a subaru. Before I bought my FJC, I drove my 02 wrx daily and used it on the weekends at the track. It has proved it's worth at Laguna Seca, Thunderhill, Willow springs, scca auto x events and just as well at the drag races. Now it is being converted to a dedicated track car.:D
