    Badass man!!

I’ve read you may want to box the rear section of frame when you are carrying a bunch of weight on the bumper of these 1st gens. Just something to think about. There are kits for pretty cheap if you don’t want to mess with making your own.

I posted in the 2A for sale thread as well, but I had a 50th Anniversary Ruger 10/22 stolen out of my garage last night in the north phoenix/glendale area (Bell & 51st ave). If anyone happens to see one pop up for sale in the near future, please let me know. It's the dark blue synthetic stock version. It also had a cheap 3-9 sights on it as well.

Alright, we signed the contract and put down the deposit for the pool at our new house. The house is mid/mod, built in 1951, and we are doing a long skinny rectangular pool that is only 3-5 feet deep and 35 feet long. We are in uptown Phoenix where we have flood irrigation so the yard is super lush with tons of trees, bushes, grass etc. Its definitely a moody jungle vibe in the yard and we want a dark pool to match. We are 99% sure about black pebble tec. Lets hear all the reasons why we shouldnt do a black pool.

I have white plaster and my pool already gets uncomfortably warm in the peak of summer. Black pool will only absorb more heat and be hotter. Could get you in the pool earlier and keep you in longer after summer on the other hand.

Probably an important detail to leave out. We spend the summer in Flagstaff and our old house had a white pool that also got too hot in the summer to swim anyway. Having it warmer the rest of the year without paying to heat it is a plus in our eyes.

I think the warmer temps of the summer and being shallow, you may have a small battle with chems, but I'm sure @prise can be much more helpful than me.

Sounds like a black pool is in your future then

Only other thing I'd say is color dependent, could be more difficult on spotting algae, but if you're hiring someone to do weekly service, that's not an issue.

Hey - anyone have any Nashville connections? My daughter is there for school, has a civic (208k miles) and sounds to me like it's cv joint issue (FaceTime diagnosis). Looking for a respectable shop to send her to. If no one really has any info I'll post up on the Nashville regional thread - but thought I'd check here first

She gets the better office and 90% of the closet I could park my truck in she can deal without a pool haha. When we bought a couple years ago, every time I said no pools, they looked at me like I had a second head. I've seen that episode before and I'm no sucker.

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
    About 6 months ago, yes.

But they just relocated to this side of the country as well.

Yes, I do realize I could have just kept my mouth shut rather than being a cock tease, but where's the fun in that? :crapstorm:

This got me pretty good lol

You seem like you got the funds and enjoy the finer things in life. I would suggest Dark blue tiles and tile the whole thing. It will last longer than any other pool surface and the only areas algae are able to get a good grip is along the grout lines.

Edit: Also spend the money to get a heat/cooling pump

This is an interesting take that I havent seen in all my googling. Why tile versus pebble tec? Other than the aforementioned algae bit.
