    Did the guy survived?

This is a kingsnake. Good little guy that will grow up to be 5, 6 feet long. Eats mice, chipmunks and other snakes, including copperheads. We've already killed a copperhead baby (8"-10" long) this year, so I was very happy to see the kingsnake today.

He did, just got to spend a couple days in the hospital. Said losing his political race was less painful than the copperhead bites, lol.

Alls I see upstate NY are common garter snakes - keeps the mice population in check…

Either that or a yellow speckled kingsnake. He was only about 18" long.

I had to put innertubes on my tiller the other day since the tires are going. When I ran it back to the woodshed I looked up to a 5’ black snake perched on the woodpile about shoulder high. That gave me a jolt but I left him be out there.

Something is making a meal out of my rhubarb. I can’t find anything. I did find one little worm on it and I’m not sure what it was. I got rid of it and didn’t take a pic. I applied neem oil to it only once.

    More blueberries. Same 2 bushes.
I guess I will have to make more bluberry jam.
    Getting tired of cobblers.
Anybody has a bluberry wine receipe?

WOW!! You can easily freeze them.

I have some honey berries that are turning blue. No blueberries, not close.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Planted my corn seeds.

    I may do that.
I had tried growing honey berries (look like long barrels, deep purple in color, red juice?) for 10 years in GA. Too hot, lost 6 bushes, took out the last one this spring.
If it is the same berry, they are loaded with anti-oxidants and leach heavy metals, including the radioactive ones, out of the body. They were/are used in Soviet and Russian space programs.

    Same.
Birds like them more than any berry! And yeah don't need or take much heat

Do you use bird netting? I have to on some of the blueberries. One of the reasons we put so many bluberry bushes in. Birds cannot eat them all.
