Yes, I tell everyone they ride at their own risk lol. But that's kinda given when you get into anyone's car. The new seats are such a big upgrade, it's worth every risk. I actually feel safer with the new seats. I'm not so uncomfortable, I drive more aware.

Umm people are pretty uptight here… nice job on the seats man. Are there any lights on the dash from the swap? And please post more detailed information about the seats bolting up. I’m dying to get rid of my bench but I want OEM
seats from an auto reg cab.

You guys are seriously over thinking this - an 05’ never had airbags in the seats themselves and he has not armed the new seats.

It is extremely easy to swap out seats and still have the system 100% functional. The drivers seat has nothing but a simple position sensor on the bottom of the seat that lets the system know the seat position. When you swap to aftermarket seats you simply remove that sensor from the bottom of the seat and relocate it to your aftermarket seat in the same position. The passenger seat has nothing but an occupant detection sensor which is a super simple air bladder that when depressed by an ass in the seat closes the circuit and lets the system know the ass is in the seat. There are two options for the passenger seat - simply swap the bladder to your new seat or purchase an occupant sensor bypass module that simply lets you flip a switch to arm or disarm much like later year models that have the air bag key switch next to the radio.

@Bangintaco How tall are you and hows the legroom? Curious if the extra thickness of the FRS seats reduces legroom

Leg room stayed the same, but now I have the ability to recline. I'm 6ft and I have plenty of leg room.

Bringing this back for the dead!
@Bangintaco i did the same seats w/ Plainted seat brackets sometime ago. I also changed the seatbelt buckles and had the seatbelts re-webbed and the latches changed. But I do have the Airbag light on in the dash.

My real question is for @Mastiffsrule,
    Scott,
Another gentleman by the name of Scott developed a bypass for the passenger seat in Toyota’s and I hear other vehicles but the clips / connections would have to be the same as the Toyota, so I doubt it.
Anyway Scott I found this setup for sale, if I was to purchase it do you think you could reverse engineer / copy it?

Make sure you check your OCS ECU. That OCS bypass module (revision 2.0 specifically) only works with 89952-35011. If your regular cab originally came with bucket seats then you will have that ECU. If bench seat, then you are out of luck.

Well SHIT I’m out of luck. :frusty:
I also hear my seatbelt dash light could be from the seatbelt retractor or something to that effect. :notsure:

    What else is new…. :bananadead:
