Thanks for the tips! Yeah I know sections around chumstick can get dusty too. I think Apr Caves sounds right …. I’ve heard that’s a great place in the warm weather

I keep seeing tastefully modded Q60’s up here that look and sound decent. Not a car that was on my radar at all until recently and Infinity dropped them o_O

Do we have a Subaru guru amongst us? I have a 04’ Legacy that came with a set of Power Brakes pads and rotors in the trunk Part # JBR957L and JBR957R. Problem is these brakes are 11.5” and stock are close to 10.5”. Not sure if there is some mod where a different model’s caliber will clear or the previous owner fucked the dog ordering parts. I'm new to Subaru. Not sure if this helps but the compatible list for that part number includes 04 Legacy GT.
    https://www.buybrakes.com/powerstop-jbr957-autospecialty-uncoated-brake-rotor

edit: how is the caliper going to fit over that though? If it's not a GT then maybe GT calipers? if you want to go that far. meh dunno

From the little bit of digging I’ve found out 16” wheels can clear and the car has 16’s. We bought the car from an estate sale just down the road from us. It belonged to a little old lady that was a farmers wife. It has every gas receipt and maintenance receipt in the glove box. Its entire life it was serviced by Skagit Subaru. Even receipts for headlight bulbs installed at the dealership. It’s kinda crazy to me it came with a set of WRX pads and rotors from stop brakes. I’m not 100% sure if the wheels came at 16” stock. We bought it for $2k and 130k miles. It’s a great little car. The receipt trail stoped 3 months before we bought it.

I have it sorted out now. I know way too much about Subarus now and feel icky. 06-07 WRX brakes are 4 pot and fit the early gen Subarus. They need a 17” wheel to clear but 06-07 wheels don’t fit because the lug spacing is different. I put on a 02 WRX 2 pot caliber and it cleared the stock 16” wheels. Hopefully tomorrow after I’m done I can meet the MIB and have them flash my memory back to an innocence Toyota enthusiast.

Almost forgot to update. Everything went together easy peasy. Zero issues and the car stops on a dime. Not exactly what I thought I signed up for yesterday, but WRX brake conversion is done. Lol wish I had known two years ago it was the “wrong rotors” and was a little more prepared. Not after I beat the shit outta the old rotors breaking them free at 4:00 on a Saturday.

8 hours maybe? the only thing that has fought me so far was a ac compressor. I also took the cams and timing chain stuff off after I took this picture.

Must not have the little smog pump on the passenger side. Those are kinda special to get apart.

Finally after many years of dreaming about it... I finally installed new OEM LCAs & a Marlin Crawler frame brace kit, fuck yeah.

Total it cost me roughly $800, worth it.

    Passenger LCA - $100 (fb)
    Driver LCA - $300 (online)
    Brace Kit - $100
    Bolts/Hardware - $200
    Labor - $100

So. I just recently found out from a co-worker that Randy's Ring and Pinion here in Everett no longer does installs.
That being the case. Where is a good shop in the Everett area that does diff service such as re-gearing?

Not really it's just always been on my mind, and I've always wanted cam tab gussets. Maybe about a year ago I started hearing clunks around corners, turns out one of my cam tabs were folded. Then I found someone selling a single new OEM LCA on marketplace for $100 so I jumped on that, then started collecting the rest of the parts. Those damn cam bolts were like $200 bucks.

Went to go get it aligned on Monday and they said one of my outer tie rod had some play and the bolt was seized. So I just order new tie-rod ends lol. It never ends bro!

I coughed up $225 for an inner a couple weeks ago from the dealership. Outer was $75. Hopefully they last another 247k. Today I bought TRQ left and right LCA’s off EBay for $188 shipped and some Taco Tab bolts. Hopefully the Taco Tad bolts play nice with my Marlin gussets or they will be going up for sale or modified.
