Yea it’s only a year or so though.

 

I do have some good ArcGIS and research experience. They took into account my Masters also. I think 23/hr is decent for an entry level role in the area, but I would like a clearer set of expectations on how and when I could expect a raise though. I also figured it couldn't hurt to get another couple bucks an hour, and maybe they meet me in the middle at 24. Worst they can say is no.

 

What’s your masters in?
I’d also be wary of the “you’ll get a raise later”, I’ve heard that before and the raise never came. Had to leave to get a bump.

 

Yea I was kinda wary of that too. It’s in geology.

 

Work a year there and leverage that experience and the masters to a mid career level position in the 35-45/hr range

 

That was kinda my thinking too.

 

It's 24 an hour but it's also a government position is it not? Those tend to have excellent benefits and in Idaho you get Persi retirement planning/funding too usually

 

No, it’s a private consulting firm, but I’d be working a lot with NEPA.

 

These are the benefits they gave me. If anything I might try to negotiate another week of PTO. They told me you don't go up to 3 weeks after 5 years normally.

 

I’ve never seen Costco membership as a benefit lol. 2 weeks is pretty weak, but also pretty standard unfortunately. Especially for smaller companies

 

I said experience, not education. Very different things. I am a big fan of knowing your worth, but make sure you can back it up.

Only 3 sick days? Ours all got rolled into "PTO" - we no longer have vacation vs. sick...

I mean it’s definitely better than my current job that had no benefits at all. But I do have a lot of flexibility at the cafe at least.

Slammed hard on my horn earlier only to realize that the stockers are weak as fuck.

Looking at Hella Twin Trumpets because I don't like the higher pitch of the Supertone variants unless someone has a better suggestion?
