I have my winch wired into a 500 amp relay I located between battery and head light on the fender “wall” and tied into a ch4x4 switch on the dash. Mainly because I’m to lazy to open the hood and then try and remember to turn it back off after I’m done using it.

It’s pretty much the same amount of work but just need to run 1 more wire to the switch in the cab. Additionally if you wire the ch4x4 switch correctly and forget to turn off the winch switch, it will time out with the rest of truck preventing the battery from being drained.

That’s a better setup…..only thing to top that would be that split with in/out button in that spot!

I have the bandlands 12k winch and it has a Bluetooth remote which is freaking amazing, so I kept the more simple looking on/off switch.
