I'm doing a big front bumper cover fix so at the same time I thought I would paint the lower plastic valance. Paint guy at NAPA said bumper paint is garbage, I told him I have used back to black and it's garbage, he agreed. Said to use "Dupli-Color High Performance Vinyl & Fabric Spray, Flat Black", I was sceptical. He said its like back to black but doesn't fade as fast, is easier and faster to apply and looks way better...well I tried it and he was right! It's only been a week but I'm so happy with the outcome.(Ignore the over spray, the chrome is getting stripped so I didn't mask it)

    Looks good.

I used herculiner on mine. :anonymous::anonymous:

And then I got tired of doing that after every camping trip and installed a cheap powdercoated bumper instead.

Vinyl and fabric coating? Never heard of it.

Looks good. Be interesting to see how long it lasts

Years ago when I had a mk2 GTI with black textured wheel flares, we used peanut butter. Worked great, lasted long enough to get through a few car show weekends. Not sure I'd try it on a camping rig....

    I will second Eastwood's stuff.

We had an old CR-V covered in cladding that was turning grey. Before we sold it I gave it a wash and found that blasting the hell out of the plastic with a pressure washer worked great. Must be a layer of oxidized plastic, which makes sense. Have also heard careful application of a heat gun will bring it back, but never dared for myself..
