Why you laughin' bout Delaware!



Our eldest lives in Middle River and her rent is about what we pay for our mortgage in Delaware...it includes garage parking though.

 

I wouldn't be mad at Delaware, id be mad at the hour and a half drive lol.

 

No hate here for Delaware… I’d much rather be there than MD. Especially when vacationing… OC, MD is trash these days. Rejoin and Dewey are so much nicer!

Don't forget about Bethany Beach!

We usually hit Lewes and Cape Henlopen State Park.

As a west coast kid who grew up in LA, I can say these beaches here in Delaware are just as fun (if not better) as the beaches I visited in my youth:

Santa Monica
Malibu
Venice Beach
Redondo
Seal Beach
Long Beach
Huntington Beach

 

Not sure why the LC isn’t in the running if I want to replace my Tacoma… maybe the price is just too high… though the mid with the tech package is only a few k more than a trail hunter.

I did look and I don’t think the LC and GH can both fit in the garage. The LC is wider than the Tacoma but I don’t remember about the 4R

Nevermind both 4R and LC same width but the mirrors make them 84ish” wide, close to the Tacoma if not the same.

 

My buddy has a vacation home on Deep Creek Lake. He said the past few summers it's been more crowded than usual because of the issues in OC. I loved OC back in the day. Plenty of times I would jump on my motorcycle and ride down for the day, totally unplanned. Grab some grub, sit on the beach & boardwalk for a bit then cruise back to Baltimore. Nice day ride.

 

Oh, 1000% agree! I practically grew up down there. Family had a house on the bay in OC as a kid. Later, it was sold off for a condo as the family got smaller (people moving away). I loved every moment down there. Was nothing but a family oriented town and safe! As a kid in the 80’s and 90’s, friends and I would disappear for the day. We’d be given times to be back for family dinner and then head right back out. Riding our bikes for endless hours with ZERO cares. Not these days!! High school years were great down there. Like you said, bunch of good friends and just shoot down for a quick night or weekend. Spend almost no money and have the best time ever! Family still has the condo and I don’t think I’ve been (or wanted to) go down for 3 maybe 5 years now. I’d rather pay and drive all the way out to OBX or something enjoyable! It’s really sad!

There’s a movie called PingPong Summer that was filmed down there in the 80’s genre I believe that is a really good watch. If not for the movie, just to reminisce down memory lane of the good ol’ days!!

 

Yeah the price is really about to knock it out of contention for us. We aren’t planning on buying a new car for a year or 2 so if the prices don’t drop at all, we might just move on to some other makes/models.

 

The grand Highlander is pretty nice

 

I like it alot! The wife does not
