I think most would be surprised if they put a DCSB on corner scales. The weight balance isn’t actually that far off of 50/50. Of course there are many factors involved as well such as bumpers/sliders etc.

This whole thing of needing to get a pile of weight behind the axle on these trucks really isn’t accurate. Nor is it beneficial.

Also, the more weight you put behind the axle such as a cell like the JD setup the more issues you’re going to have when that cell is empty and you’re tuned for it being full.

IMO a nice sized mid ship cell right at the front of the bed is the most ideal location. And MAYBE a single spare in the bed. Go above that and you’re getting into custom leaf packs etc if you really want it to work.

Learning as I go here. I have an appointment at Deaver next Tuesday to do just that. Jesse and Jeff at Deaver's talked and have a custom spring setup in mind hopefully gets me where I want with both an empty and full auxiliary fuel tank. 157.5 lbs of fuel when full. I need to get a new weigh in with all the extra weight that has been added. With the prior SOA my rear bed height was at 54"s now with the SUA and extra fuel tank topped off for both OEM tank and auxiliary I'm sitting at 50 1/4"s. Pretty serious squat going on at the moment. If i can gain at least 2.5"s with the custom spring pack I think that will be ideal and ride quality shouldn't suffer when auxiliary tank is empty.

    Before with SOA

No matter what you do. You’re 100% going to notice 150lbs gone off the tail end when that tank is empty. Putting weight that far back makes enormous changes. That’s why IMO a cell at the front of the bed is more ideal as the change will be subtle.

It really feels great on highway so far. The Howe TC power steering kit is pretty impressive. Just got it back yesterday hasn't seen any dirt yet. Holding off testing it as is until after the Deaver custom pack is installed.

Gaining more travel, moving the shackle to the bottom hole, new proper king bumps installed adjusting the bumps position (up) and adjusting the strikepad in order to have more bump zone travel while fully loaded. its interesting they installed you with shackle in top hole. Was the after picture with the aux tank full?

Unfortunately I'm locked into what I have. If needed after the custom pack I may end up moving the spare into a custom bed mount to help get some weight off the rear. Jeff at Deavers's feels confident we can find the right spring setup to make work.

That's how I was sitting on F67's and H70's. Deaver made me a set of H70HD-"HD" which had an extra spring. I gained almost 5" of ride height. My dry* weight was 2880# front, 2480# rear (5160# total). *dry weight is all loaded with no food, drinks or camping gear.

They will, there is already a solution addon for our SUA's being worked on as far as a leaf combo.

I think Jesse said they did that due to my bumper mount. If the custom leaf pack doesn't do the trick then Jesse is going to modify my bumper mounting to be able to adjust the shackle.

hmm, so the shackle would strike the bumper mount? if mounted in the bottom hole?

I wasn't in the shop at the time. Jesse called me to let me know that without customizing the bumper mount he wouldn't be able to adjust the shackle. But he could make it work if needed after if needed.

Yes H70HD's on the truck now. Going to add another leaf to gain some height.

I love that aux fuel tank system, but as a storage bin, Jesse and I were talking about that and possible future mod. Fuel wise I am pushing for https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-293253
