We swapped out the crank sensor for the original one, and now that code is gone! Also, it idles nice. The remaining code is:

    freezeframe3.jpg

Not sure what exactly to change or check. Could this be related to the gas now being super old, like 4 months or more and just clogging things up?

This is high pressure sensor. Does the error come back after erasing the code? Check wiring at the sensor and ecm. Note that high pressure is displaying -2.377

Bravo my man. Glad to hear it is running smooth. The ground issue should be a relatively simple fix for you now given all that you have gone through. This thread is a master class in dedication.

    Seriously impressive @Vlady :)

Looking through giant book trying to figure out which sensor is, we thought it might be this one so swapped it, but no change.

    sensor1.jpg

I found this diagram in the book, so I guess this is the high pressure one or is there more than one?

There is one sensor on the low side and one on the high side on the rails and that is all that I see sensor wise on the fuel system.

i think you are looking at low pressure sensor (judging by wire colors). High should have Blue. Also note, there is a junction connector for Beige wire (BE).

We swapped the one on top of the end of the fuel rail I think this one:

    sensor4.jpg

Or are we looking at the wrong one? Checking other stuff meanwhile. The truck runs smooth but won't accelerate really above 2000 rpm, otherwise maybe we just drive it around the put a new tank of gas in it, this tank is months old.

    Yeah.
It may not be the sensor itself, it may be the wiring.

the wires/pins to this sensor look ok and we get 5 volts there.

Is there another sensor deep down in the intake somewhere?

Months old gas might not be what you want to fill up with at the pump, but it's also not the limiting factor here.
I don't see where you've mentioned otherwise, so I assume the truck is still in limp mode?

The truck is no longer in limp mode, swapping the crank sensor back to the old one fixed that, although I have no idea why new sensor from Toyota was defective. Shifts fine when it drives and idles smooth, just doesn't accelerate.

The chances of that are so slim I have to wonder if it actually was defective, or if it got jacked up after you installed it.
Forgive me, I haven't been following this as closely since your brief hiatus.
    Good luck with it, again.

we certainly could've screwed it up too, but swapping back to the old fixed it, which makes me quite happy really :)

    One code left.

    Yeah.
Check the diagrams above. You are looking for the high-pressure sensor. As Vlady said, the connector you want should have a blue wire.

that code is on fail-safety list, that's why you cannot accelerate.

The high-pressure sensor is under intake. So you need to take the intake to inspect connector

I just wanted to be the first to say:

Welcome to the 800th reply on this thread!!!

If I had the slightest idea when starting this whole thing though...

The only reason I could do this is because we have lots of vehicles to drive while working on this and I thought someone needed to be the first guy to really tear these down to bare metal and try to get it all running again. I think it's the same engine in the 4Runner, so hopefully this'll be widely useful.

Also, I hope we find the last code so I can drive the truck somewhere and celebrate.
