Seat frame bent in accident- what are my options?

My 2002 double cab limited was rear ended and the impact actually bent the upper frame and seized up the base (it will not slide forward or back) on my drivers side. This is the limited seat that has the power lumbar.
The insurance adjuster included just under $600 total for replacement of both the lower base/rails and frame for the seat back. That $600 included the parts as well as labor to remove the existing seat/rails, replace the base and seat back frame, move the padding and upholstery from the old seat to the new frame and re-install the seat. Seems super low to me.

    Questions:
    1) Is the base/rails the same on a Limited as they are for base models without the power lumbar seats?
    2) I assume the seat back frame for a limited is different than the seat back frame for a base model as the limited feels wider more plush, and has the power lumbar. Can anyone confirm if that is accurate (that the frames are different)?
    3) I am having a heck of a time finding anyone that sells the seat back frame (even for a base model). They are discontinued from Toyota and I cannot even find after market options. Any suggestions or options for a seat back frame that would work on a limited?

I have also been checking online for used/OEM ones and can't find a limited drivers seat with the power lumbar.

When Toyota did have them in stock the seat back alone was $723.39 before tax according to my local dealership. That does not include the base.

If I cannot get a new frame that will work with my existing limited seat what are my options? Spend the money to have TWO Corbeau seats installed and push adjuster to increase the estimate, since there is no way I am going to have 2 different seats in the truck (one limited and one base)?

You were hit hard enough it bent your seats what is the rest of truck like?

Your going to need to sit down with your agent and who did the estimate and discuss your options.

Insurance is so different state by state and companies.

    Old ins adjuster here

I have seen bent seat frames/twisted seat backs/etc before especially from RE impact

need to 1st determine whether or not you want the truck to be totaled or you want to keep and get repaired

    if u want keep,

then point out the issue(seat frame) to ins company. It’s their job to rectify the issue. If you press and press them……
Bc seat is technically a safety concern, and bc of your pressing, ins comp could just say part not available and hence a constructive ttl loss

much depends if you are 1st party(your insurance) or 3rd party (striking vehicle’s insurance) and if you want totaled or repaired
As well as state laws….which are cra cra

In Montana, if other driver found at fault, you immediately get a payment for damaging your vehicle…..separate from repairs/rental/bodily injury

The truck actually looks fine as the bumper and frame did it's job. Must have been the perfect hit as frame is not bent, and other than the bumper and seat it appears there is only cosmetic damage to the passenger fender topper and cab from where the box and topper contacted the cab.
The adjuster for the other driver (at fault) added just under $600 to the estimate for a seat frame and essentially told me to work with the repair shop to figure out what to do about the seat and shop can request a supplement. He did agree that bending the seat back is a safety hazard. As such I am trying to figure out options since I cannot find a frame that fits my existing "limited" seat.

Check all of your bed mounting bolts for deformation or elongation of the holes. Those torx bolts need to be removable. Flex might have been enough to run the bed into the cab but there might be damage other than to the frame. Looks like the cap might have shifted to the rear some as well.

I fully expect to find additional items once the shop starts tearing it down and digging into it, at this point I just want to figure out what options I have for a seat frame that will work with my seat, and if there are NONE other than getting lucky and finding a used/oem frame at a salvage yard, is anyone familiar with whether or not an insurance co would foot the bill for a pair of after market seats such as corbeau's or something similar? I would much rather keep OEM but I can't seem to find an option and I don't want it totaled out because of that. (I was told there is around $4500 cushion in supplemental damage (above and beyond what is already known/identified) before it would hit the "totaled" threshold.

Then you may be stuck with whatever can be found whether it’s an identical match or not, limited or otherwise. Try pushing for the whole set from the floor up though, might be easier to locate rather than a piece of it.

    I remember seeing that pix…..
We spoke about top of camper hitting cab from the impact
Never saw the cab corner pix thou
    That’s pretty expensive
RI bed/rpr and paint/color match(blend) to rear door…..and if opo side cab has dmg…..X 2

It’s possible that adjuster is giving you a way out thou
    Let me explain
    Our trucks get 40% salvage
IMO, yours (run/drives….10ft away, no damage) could fetch 50% or higher
That means VERY easy to total out
    I.E.:
    $10k ACV
    $5k. Salvage

if repairs are over $5k insurance company will total out and make $5k from selling your truck

    what I’m saying……be cool Ringo

If you complain too much, adjuster will say fuck it, total it and move on to the other 100 claims they are handling

there are 100’s of variables here
Feel free to reach out to me NP

I have helped dozens of friends with the ins company’s tricks….especially value
In fact, one friend (after pointing out irregularities in ins company’s Evaluation Report…..he argued my Facts….got $5500 more than the original offer)
He always says I should start a business of some kind

Your issue is different that value but that’s easier (believe it or not)
    Cheers

Bump. Picked up 2 limited front seats from salvage. Driver seat is slightly bent. Started looking to regular sr5 seat to see if part swap is possible. If anyone has repaired these seats before or has information about disassembly of reclining mechanism help would be appreciated. Looks like everything is riveted in.

Where TF did you find two limited seats?

Get the 4runner sport seats (readily available) and you can swap the Tacoma cushions on to it.

    thanks!

I’ve been watching fb marketplace for about 2 years looking for 4runner or Lexus seats that match interior. Someone had double cab part out and I was quick enough. Picked up both seats, ash tray and a few other small interior items for 300 bucks.

I've been looking for over 12 years. All I got was the upper and lower cushion of one seat (matches my interior).

take a look at car-part.com for salvage parts. It will show you the specific inventory for your truck at all the yards in the state, region, or the entire US. Insurance adjuster, and I use it every day.

Will the 4 runner frame bolt up or do I have to swap the tracks ?
