Can anyone help me out here? I've got a 23 Tacoma 4x4 utility access cab. I wanted to upgrade my rims, just some simple black steel rims. Got some duremax tires, new, off a buddy cheap. 265 70/R16 .
So I go looking. And looking. I need a 16x7 6/5.5. Found that, checked multiple sites to verify rim will fit on my truck. The few that let you choose a 16" for a 23 say yes. Bought em, mounted, TPMS programmed... Go to install and they Won't clear the caliper. Needs more of a spacer then I want to add in order to make it work. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2963801380...0040645734&itmmeta=01HYKV5G8RACHJK560B0325PET
Of course now they have updated the listing on these rims saying that they don't fit my model but half the sites still say it will. Do you guys know What offset, backspacing is really needed on this model? Or a rec for a simple black steel rim that'll fit?

I can't answer your question, as I am in a similar situation. I'll be watching this thread, though.

Just reposted in the wheels and tire section of the forum. I think you have to search for the 22 tacos rims.

Very slim pickings in my neck of the woods. Most are rusted piles or alloys or 17s. And the few that look okish aren't worth the 5hr round trip for 3/4 new price.
I'm looking for new stock rims. But I can't trust the sites shop by truck filter.

None of the Vision brand wheels confirmed will not fit. Its looking like for steel it'll be the oem spare rim.

Maybe you should look for wheels and not rims?

Seat jackers on driver's side (way more comfortable), GMRS radio, dash mount system, new tires. More to come.
IMG_8438.jpg So, just gonna offer up a suggestion. I, also, was wanting to replace my wheels - until I had this idea to paint the center caps. Thought that would be a different look; it did.

I'm not a fan of the stock rims the style of them. Those do look good with the caps painted.

Finding a rim with zero offset will likely help the issue. You may also consider looking at 16x8 (0 offset)...there are a lot of options in this size.

    Cheers

I have Falken wildpeak at3w's 265/75/r16's on some Method 703s. Purchased the wheels and tires from Trail Built Off-Road. They mounted, balanced and shipped them assembled for free. They require you to purchase TPMS as part of the process so they can have it mounted. I had to have Les Schwab program the sensors to the truck, but it was a painless process shipped, delivered and mounted. Would 100% recommend. Where you are just getting rims, get some steelies or if you're feeling fancy, most 16" methods will clear the brakes. Their website should notify you if they don't once you enter your vehicle.

I like simple, and old school. I wanted steel instead of alloys. But it seems next to nobody makes a steel in a shape that will clear the front calipers without adding spacers.
