Hey everybody I need some advice, I did a coolant bypass replacement on a cousin of mine who has a Tacoma, a few days later he got a couple of codes in regards to the maf and secondary air injection system (P2443, P2445, P0113, P0102, P2441) I came over and noticed I missed a small hose that went from the secondary air to the intake. I tried clearing codes but it would not let me. Tommorow I’m probably going to disassemble everything to check that I didn’t miss anything but decided to post this in case I could get a couple of pointers. I appreciate any feedback

You can not clear hard codes.
You have to drive the truck and they will eventually clear on their own.

Tell your cousin to go drive the truck, and to make at least 2 different trips.
Make sure the engine gets up to operating temp on each trip.

Agreed, if the codes are listed as Permanent and the CEL isn't on you will have to drive it for them to clear (monitors have to run and pass at least 2 times in 2 consecutive trips for Permanent DTCs to clear)

If they are listed as Pending/Current then we will need to troubleshoot them.

The cel is on as well as the traction control light . So I’d just have to tell him to perform two drive cycles? All are permanent and p2445 is pending

Was this the hose that was off?

Because that hose goes to the sensor that monitors the Secondary Air Injection System.

When I went a checked it out I immediately caught it and installed it back, so tomorrow I’ll just have to perform two drive cycles?

I mean clear the Pending/Current codes and make sure the CEL stays off, if it does then the Permanent codes should clear after the monitors run several times. If the CEL comes back on though then we still have a problem present and need to look things over further.

Two long drives cycles should clear it. If it ain't broke, don't mess with it.
