The 3 sisters? Squash and beans+corn?
Between corn, squash and beans body gets all 9 amino acids needed to build muscles.

That’s assuming there’s any left after fending off every other living thing that trying to eat it. But it sure is cool watching things grow.

He's got a fence around his plants.

I have fence around mine too. And a barn cat that does a decent job of keeping squirrels out of the garden.

Sun flowers and beans, and lots of dollar weed.
Down here the squash doesn’t do well only certain varieties because of vine borers.
    Yes it is.
This is essential my front yard it’s 10’ from my living room window. The green acts as a nice vail so I don’t have to look at my neighbors cars or dilapidated home.

Did not see it mentioned in this thread. And I guess it is not as common knowledge as I thought it was.
We wash our fruit, berries, and veggies in cold water with lemon juice. Lemon juice kills bacteria, worms, etc.

Thinner skinned berries, like blackberries, we soak for only 3 minutes, and others fruit and veggies for 5. It gives us time to pick leaves and stuff floating on top, plus mixing the stuff, so everything gets washed.

Reminded me of little-leaf Linden but slightly different. Then I looked it up and understood why.

Joe called it. Little leaf or European linden. Different from North American linden.
Dried flowers, along with the narrow flower leaves, and some black tea leaves and honey, make the best "I am sick and I am dying" tea.

Nothing treats sore throat, cough or colds better.

    Last year's pick:

I'll take a pic next time I make it.
I use a French press, make a very strong tea with loose tea leaves (I prefer Indian teas) and linden, add almost boiling water and let it steep for 15 min. Fill up a cup half full with a mix, top off with hot water and a LARGE spoonfull of raw honey. Sip slowly and let it coat your throat.
1 French press will make 4 or 5 cups. Kids love it, so it goes fast.

Dried flowers need to be kept in air tight canisters. I found large glass locking ones on Amazon.

Picked flowers are never washed (washes away the pollen, the best part). I dry them on a clean bath towel, put several sticky traps face up to catch any bugs that may crawl out.

Very neat. I’ll have to find a source of the leaf and give this a try. My daughter’s allergies are kicking her butt, with a sore throat right now.

We have a food dehydrator so perhaps could use that.

I rotate the garden each season for that benefit. Not sure I could harvest throwing all the seeds out there together without trampling down half of it. I reckon I could if planting a wash tub but I’m looking for yield, to put up a years worth of food, can etc.

I planted that tree 12 years ago. Last year I planted two more. Bees love it so it gets pollinators in the garden. They do grow tall. I will try to top the 12 year old one, closest to the house.

Anyone growing lemon balm? If so, what are you doing with it? This plant is probably 5 years old now but it’s taking up too much space and I’m tempted to dig it up after this year if I can’t figure out something to use it for.
