    Hey everyone,
Man it's been a long time since I've checked in here, hope you all doing well!

Anyways, recently my wipers turn on for no reason, and will not shut off. I've had to pull the fuse to stop them from going. This seems to be an intermittent issue.

Additionally, the windshield wiper sprayer won't turn on (when I pull back the lever) like it used to. The pump doesn't turn on, although the wipers do.

When I got under the front of the truck I tested the pump with a battery and it works perfectly, so somewhere along the line there's no voltage making it to the pump.

I'm wondering if this is the wiper switch that's gone bad? They aren't a real cheap thing to buy, so I thought I'd check in here first.

Is there a way to actually verify and check (maybe with a voltmeter or something) failure of said part?

    Thanks!

Edit: I opened it all up and found the springs on the inside to be worn out so I made some adjustments to them and boom wipers are working normally again! Thank goodness!

Unfortunately though, the sprayer still doesn't work. When I hit the sprayer contact in the switch, I can hear a little relay or something inside the switch go "click", and it completes a circuit because I get continuity on 2 pins in the harness.

The wipers turn on as they should when I use the sprayer, but the sprayer itself never sprays.

    Any other advise here?

This recently happened to my '03 recently and it was a broken wiring harness near the front passenger wheel well at the washer pump that was shorting to ground. Made the circuit believe the washer pump was running and therefore required the wipers to run to clean the windshield. Fixed the wiring, fixed the broken wires with some soldering and electrical tape and fixed the problem.

I know I'm late replying here but it turned out to be the exact same issue for me!

I had to resolder the wires at that front connector and everything works great now!

Honestly I have no idea! The wiring seemed corroded when I started cutting some of the insulation on the wires.
