2011 RC 5-lug 5-speed!

I was driving to the bank from the scrapyard with my girlfriend when I saw this RC and had to get pics; I knew immediately that those wheels were 2005-2008 Mustang V6 (if you look closely, you can see blue oval), and I took pictures thinking it was a 4x4 or PreRunner. It then occurred to me that Mustangs don't have six lugs, and the owner must have put adapters on to fit these wheels. I also thought that maybe they were 6-lug wheels that looked like Mustang wheels, but they 5-lug and definitely from a Mustang; I looked closer at the pictures and realized that this truck is likely a 5-lug with a lift kit; I ran the license plate through Carfax and my suspicions were confirmed! The truck is a 2008 that was purchased new in Virginia where it stayed from 2008 to 2018. It then spent about two years in Alaska before coming to PA in February 2020. It appears to have had only one owner, so I'm thinking the owner is either in the military (highly likely since the Air Force base is right around the corner) or has a job where he or she moves quite often. The truck has less than 126K miles as of March 2024 and is worth almost two grand than mine despite being two years older!

I'm not trying to be hostile or anything, but you just randomly posted a picture of a totaled GMC truck in one my Toyota Tacoma stalking threads, and didn't quote a specific truck. Are you trying to compare your truck to a specific truck that I have taken pictures of, or just a be a troll/wiseass...?

Was it, by any chance, a rolled over silver 2005 DSCB with a Tundra V8 swap?

2007 AC 5-lug; I found this truck on the trade-in lot at CarShop, and I thought it was in decent condition until I saw the frame. Despite being a base model, it has cruise control, though it's possible that it's aftermarket like my truck. It also has an automatic transmission, and I forget when the last year was that you could get a 2nd Gen access cab with crank windows, but this one has power windows and locks. This truck was definitely the original frame, but the fact that it passed a safety inspection in January is a good sign; I still would NOT buy this truck however, just based on the condition of the frame. It's also pre-2009, which means it lacks traction control and a limited-slip differential (and side airbags), and has ABS that's damn near useless in bad weather...

That frame had a day, and it ain't today.

I wonder if it was just the RCs that you couldn't get cruise..my friend's dad has a 5 lug AC with it, though his is the 12-15 run so that could be part of it

CarShop ain’t selling that thing. Unless @Empty_Lord shows up with cash in hand, because he totally needs another project.

 

No RC 5-lug left the factory with cruise, but RC 6-lugs with SR5 trim like the silver one above that I saw in Macungie have cruise...

 

A good use for that truck would be buying a salvage title truck from California or Texas (or one that got totaled after getting the frame replacement) that has no frame damage, and putting the body (or a least the cab) on the clean frame. The title stays with the cab, and I'm assuming the '07 has a clean title. It would also be fun to slam the truck and build a custom frame for it...

 

2015 AC; I forgot to see if it had a diff locker button, and can't verify the trim, but I believe it's at least an SR5...
