Maybe it was leaking and that was a shade tree way of fixing it..I don’t think you can get parts for those lines, have to replace the whole thing.

You press the blue button in to release the line…there’s an O Ring in the side with the blue button to…I’m wondering if it’s damaged

Is that electrical tape or heat shrink they put on the end to try to get it to seal better as a temp fix?

Looks like somebody messed with it to try and fix a leak. It sucks but I'd just replace the lines as needed. They're plastic and aren't really meant to be repaired.

We used to repair the GM plastic lines and had the kit for it. But it was really easy to bend the line trying to jam it onto the repair coupler.. lots of futzing around..

    This.
The dealer could have botched the job on the fuel pump recall. You could ask your dealer,, but I don't know if they will be real helpful.

I would separate the lines, make sure there is an o-ring in the female side and look for kinks, dinks or anything else that would prevent a seal and go from there. If nothing obvious sticks out then put a little oil on the end of the line and try installing it again and check for leaks. It could just be the line not fully/properly inserted
