I used the wiper fuse to add a tap, as in the instructions.

I have not seen it at night, I may, if I can't find the switch, but I will if I need to.

I have the Desert Does It seat jackers. They lift the front lip of the seat so it supports your legs better, it's most noticeable on long road trips. I'm 6'2" and my head doesn't touch the roof.

Do you have a sunroof? Because that takes up a few inches of head space. Before I bought my truck I test drove one with a sunroof and I couldn't sit up straight in it.

Icon is a great option as mentioned already. I have a Deaver AAL and it's been great. I've absolutely overloaded my bed quite a few times and it hasn't sagged much at all

I only have the front jacked, so my rear is not any higher off the floor, but the seat seems more relaxed/reclined. With your knees up a bit they seem to more leg room. Ordered from Ali express for like $15, I’m about to order a set for our old GX470 (daughter’s vehicle), those seats are really tilting forward!

Anyone know how any brand seat jackers perform in front end crashes? Do they fail and send you through the windshield or are they as safe as OEM configuration?

As I said, I'm not concerned about the seat. It's ME that I don't want to come loose.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
In a front-end collision, the seats aren't covering any of the load. Rear-end collision would be where the seat mounting would be your concern. I bought the originals. I trust the metal that was used as opposed to the who-knows-what that comes with the AliExpress knockoffs.

You'd think such products would be actually crash tested....

    Perhaps for you.....
ARB crash tests their stuff cause Aussie laws on modified vehicles are extremely strict.

How the seats are attached to the floor is an integral part of a vehicle's crash safety.

You consumers are way too easy on these mod companies. Burying your heads in the sand and hoping for the best

I'd bet that 90% of the shit you find on Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, etc. that are auto mod related would never pass DOT inspection, much less any kind of crash testing. Crash testing is expensive, which is why ARB cost what they do. (Along with the intellectual property)

While DesertDoesIt likely hasn't done any crash testing, the thought put into the design and materials used takes into account the loads that may occur during a crash.

When I bought the Seat Jackers, I had read up on the background and thought process that went into the design, and it's probably as sound as you'll get without a crash test.

Forty to fifty years ago, you wouldn't have seen any of that shit on store shelves, because the DOT actually did inspections on aftermarket parts. And if they determined the parts weren't safe, they couldn't be sold.

Eventually, people decided to sell the stuff anyway and make the DOT stop them, which they didn't. And here we are today. The consumer has to be aware of what they are buying and the implications. Most don't care.

    here’s a link:
    https://www.yotatv.com/collections/interior-tacoma-accessories/products/1-25-inches-lift-front-seat-jackers-for-toyota-tacoma-4runner-and-fjc

These are always on sale on this website. Think they’re just a cheap Chinese knock off. The only reason I went with these instead of another eBay or Amazon knockoff was because it has a Molle panel you can buy as well. only bad part is that it took like 3 weeks for shipping from across the pond. Quality seems to be very good though. Not sure how much better quality desert does it could be.

Honest opinion, they are awesome, and I’m only 5’7. I will say that the steering wheel does limit how far you can raise the seat though.

It's not the aluminum block it's the bolts used to secure them. Make sure you are using at least Grade 8 bolts. I have the original Seat Jackers but I bought them when they first came out. Used them in my 2017 and now in my 2023. they make the most difference with the power seats. I really like them.
