Can you elaborate more on the vibration? At a certain RPM? Speed? Gear?

I seem to recall a post about the harmonic balancer on a fairly new truck going bad. It would be an easy check, I believe.

I went to the dealer and test drove a used 2023 Trd sport, same thing as mine had a roughness when idling in gear could feel the shaking slightly also very similar vibrations through the gas pedal and floorboard when driving. I guess I’m going crazy as I don’t recall my other tacomas doing any of this but it does confirm these trucks are just like this. Guessing some are just smoother than others and it all comes down to the build tolerances and what’s within spec.

I figured so, go enjoy your truck and your life, and don't sweat the shakes. This topic seems to have been driving you borderline insane, release it.

Yeah you are right, I actually feel lot better knowing that another 2023 is practically the same as mine if not worse. Yeah just gonna deal with it is what it is. Just knowing there’s nothing tech wrong with it is a sigh of relief

Test drove a used 2023 Trd sport, was the same as mine idling in gear. rough had a shake to it like mine and also significant vibrations up through the gas pedal floorboard. Sigh of relief knowing that’s just how some of these trucks are. Guess there are tolerances and they are all slightly different

@OP, did you ever get a chance to check the harmonic balancer? I have the same truck as you, and mine is as smooth as silk.

Harmonic balancer is fine. Smooth as silk I guess is all dependent on what some people notice more then others. As soon as I got to a traffic light in the used Trd sport I felt the engine doing its thing just like my truck

I remember last year driving to South Carolina and once arriving discussing with you the fact that the hvac box was sweating and dripping water on my passenger floor mat in my last 3rd gen lol. Curious to see if this happens on this truck. Same drive same hotel in July. Of course last year I was turning on the fresh air mode and overriding the computer which selects recirculate in anything over 75 degrees

I just let mine do it's thing (default to recirc.) and have never had a problem.

I’ve been in 4 other third gens and they all were pretty smooth, including mine.

I guess you just got a bit unlucky on this one.

What’s the odds of sitting in another 23 that’s just like mine. Tells me there’s variations in the trucks

I’ve sat in three 19s and one 17.

Chances of me riding in a 23 are pretty slim unfortunately. I will definitely ride/drive one if I ever get the chance :)

I suspect it’s highly likely that all 3rd gens with the v6 are exactly the same.

I would agree unless something changed in late 23s for emissions

It’s still the same v6 mechanically. Emissions are an entirely different subject than engine balance. Watch some videos on engine balance. This guy has some good ones.

Maybe mine does the same thing and I just don't notice it. I'm used to my old 1958 John Deere twin cylinder, so anything as new as my Tacoma just seems smooth by comparison...LOL

I think that’s one of the biggest issues on TW, people’s expectations.
