I'm under the impression that most vehicles fail because of design flaws, not manufacturing. Hell even most manufacturing defects are faults in the industrial engineering.

 

You are correct but you could notice things like bad fit and finish, rattles, poor paint quality coming out of a bad manufacturing plant even though the vehicle might be reliable and durable.

 

Just picked up my BO TRD OR, made in Baja (Tijuana). Excellent fit/finish. Came in exactly when predicted.

 

Yea fit and finish is far better on my 2024 than my 2022 that was also made in Mexico.

 

I didn't drive in a 2024 but I sat in one. Owner was walking the same track I was and he had a 2024 and me my 2022. Your comment couldn't be further from accurate imho. The 2024 seemed cheap inside and while more tech was involved that thing screamed KIA Telluride lol. The 2024s owner left a 2019 TRD Sport at the dealer for the new ride and while he said he has no regrets he's not sure if he made a good decision trading in the 3rd gen. Jury is out I'll wait and see where this goes.

Sat in one the other day and it looks and feels fantastic. Just don't understand that assessment. Maybe with the SR trims, but the OR premium this guy let me sit in is better than my OR. Felt that immediately and I don't own one yet.

With my 3G, there is vast spaces of empty plastic, but the 4G looks like someone put some thought in maximizing space with useable storage. Instead of moving piles of stuff around my seats on long trips, I can now have places to organize things. Can't wait for mine to arrive so I can get back on the road. Tired of reading this negative crap.

 

Parked beside a 24 Sport to get a good Comparison. To me the 24 looks bigger than my 23. I still prefer the look of the 3rd Gen.

 

I just have an SR5 and have been thoroughly impressed so far. Panel gaps and fitment are far better than my '22 was.

I see the negative and just roll my eyes. Are they expensive? Yes, but it's my money.

There have been several 3rd genners that have drove one and really liked it.

 

We went thru 3 driers since 2017, second washer since 2017 is dying now. Just nursing it along.

Whirpool, Maytag and GE are horrible. Picked up an LG drier this year. Washer, once this GE dies, will be an LG also. Very happy with it.

 

Exactly. All the new govt regulations have destroyed the appliance industry. Washing machines have to use less water which doesn’t clean clothes as well, less copper can be used… they build them to be disposable rather than to be fixed now

When I drove a '24 Tundra recently for 3 weeks, as long as I didn't take in a view of the spacious cabin, the Tacoma/Tundra felt the same size. Looking out over the hood? = the same, viewing the bed from the rearview mirror?= the same. Driving down the road?= the same. The new Tacoma is shaped like a coke bottle, its shape gets skinny in the middle to make for a smaller cabin, and the front and rear is flared out. Otherwise it feels like a full size truck.

Plus I'm over 3 months of ownership, and people are still saying "hey I like your Tundra" to me. It's a Tundra, just slower.

You can cut through off road trails that were created by SxS's and UTV's with previous gen Tacoma's pretty easily, but you are going to do worse than pinstripe the everliving fucking shit out of your 4th gen getting on those trails. I've given up on worrying about my paint.

No, and I don't mean to make it sound as though I don't love my truck. I do, but I'm certainly not the superfan that I was when I first joined this forum.

 

Curious how many 4th gen owners are opting for the 14" monster screen versus the ghetto 8 incher. Another perplexing choice by Toyota, along wiith hiding the slider window in a 4K option package that includes a bluetooth speaker LOL, and not hybridizing long beds.

 

I have the 8" display, and it's completely adequate. It looks bigger(to me) once you're sitting in the drivers seat. The 14" is nice and people really go Wow when they see it, but I wish Toyota would have utilized that massive screen space more intelligently regarding icon size & app features.
