I read this morning that due to the tragedy and practical shutdown of Toyota in Japan, Toyota corporate is advising their dealer network to order parts only on an "emergency basis".

A chirp probably wouldn't be emergency, TSB or no TSB.

It will be a huge problem.
My friend is pretty high up at a Lexus dealership and they are predicting part shortages and car shortages.
The new car prices will not be discounted at his dealership MSRP will be the prices.
Nissan was hit real bad probably the worst of all the Japanese car companys.

Had my blower motor replaced at the dealership today. They said it is a new improved motor, so I guess we'll wait and see/listen.

Yea it's been 2 months for me. I was tired of waiting. So. Scraped some coinage out from under my couch and in my drawers, and bought a tyc fan off Amazon for 50 bucks. I had 40 bucks in coins too :)

It's supposed to arrive Wednesday. I'll let everyone know how it goes

Well they changed it...and installed the insulator. Funny I could have sworn I heard it make that sound as I was driving away...but not 100% sure (it is really windy here today)...Also got the TPMS fix and a funky bulge I had in the tail gate cover...

I installed the TYC unit yesterday. Paid 39 plus 12 shipping from Amazon.

For that price, its not worth my time to drive to the dealer, leave the car, and get a ride back to pick it up later. Not to mention arguing with the dealer about what constitutes a "noise".

FOR THOSE THAT GOT THE TSB FOR THIS, PLEASE POST PICS IF YOU CAN OF THE INSULATION THE DEALER INSTALLED:)

I had my third blower motor installed on Saturday. Lucky for me they had it in stock this time. My second one was installed a little over a year earlier and started making noise after a few months, and became really annoying the following fall. I compared the part numbers and this latest one is the new part number. I will try to update how this replacement does.

My dealer said they are testing 3 models right now but a final new designed blower motor isn't yet available??? He said he has 80 on order for unhappy customers. He was impressed that the new one they put in mine lasted a month without squeaking. Until the new redesigned part comes in there is no reason to keep swapping one shitty motor for another.

Well mine started 2 days later (I didn't drive it on Sunday)...so it failed pretty much right after the install...I have another appointment with the dealer Saturday. Not happy at all.

So they put the insulation kit on with the same old squeaky motor. 1 mile down the road, I'm back in the waiting room while they install a new motor. Is there anything I should tell them to oil when installing a new one? Help please!

There is no help right now. All they have is the same old crappy designed (all be it new) motor to put in. You have to suck it up until there is a redesigned motor. I'm sorry, but sound deadening a poorly engineered fan motor is not a fix in my mind.

1st they just replaced item # 04009-46104 which they said was all it needed. then the mechanic said he could give me a new motor in 5 min.! They said i should have had they newer motor to begin with.
    it's "fixed for now".

This is an easy fix. Use a little CA glue (super glue) along the edge that is cracked. Push them together and hold for 20 to 30 seconds. That should be more than strong enough to fix it.

My truck is ready from the dealer now, after about a 3month wait. I might see about taking it out tonight and see if there is any difference in the build with this "new" motor.

Had the dealership order mine about 2 weeks ago (only drove 500km before the squeak) and it came in yesterday. Will be installed on Monday.
