Ok, on the 4th read through it's becoming clear. LOL.

So you're using 2 phones, one is your regular coms device and one is your GPS unit....do they both communicate with a Cardo/bluetooth, or are you strictly visual aids/nothing in helmet?

That sounds like it was all emotionally taxing. I'm sorry for your losses.

Hey man, missed this. Still processing losing my dog last fall. 7th 'lifer' dog I've had to put down and yet, nothing prepared me for the aftermath. He was something more than canine. All I can say. Sorry for your loss and thanks for the memorial day reminder. It get's lost in all the navel gazing we do as Americans.

I still use a stand alone Garmin GPS, Zumo XT, and use Garmin Basecamp software on both my personal laptop and I'm allowed to have it on my work computer as I maintain our GPS unit our truck driver uses. Now with that being said I do not have it linked to my Sena com unit as I had an issue with doing so. The issue was that with my g/f on the back and using the Sena intercom if the GPS cut in to tell me something she wouldn't hear it and I wouldn't know I missed what she said. This lead to some uncomfortable situations and the intercom was more important to me so I took the GPS audio out of the Sena.

Used HD prices are down, you are probably looking at $5K for the sporty. The King is a nice ride, but totally different than the sporty. I would get the King first and give it a good ride before deciding which to sell.

re-read, he was the one who dropped the price himself saying "hell you can take it for $6800, just need it gone since I'm moving" I didn't ask him to lower it.

i also followed up after saying I would gladly match it or even pay a little more, which I know he saw the messages since Facebook provides read receipts, and he just went and took the listing down. would you do that as a seller too?

Lol sorry yeah that was a quick schizo write up.

Yeah two phones, I mount my spare "junk" phone on the handlebars of my bike for all offline stuff, visual aids only no communication. If for some reason I need to update offline maps I can always hotspot to my main phone, but its never been needed if I do my due diligence planning before hand and updating things at home on WiFi. Main phone stays safe in a jacket pocket or in a box on the bike.

The biggest thing for me is having EVERYTHING available offline, I dont want to rely on connectivity for anything as lots of riding is done out in the boonies. Having two different aps with two different modes of navigation allows for backup options, as well as the ability to pull my main phone out and operate in the same manner if needed.

This reminds me I need to activate my Garmin Inreach subscription for my upcoming trip for emergency communication.

Is my route planner as mentioned. You can login and create a map with different layers then export to be viewed on any KMZ/KML viewer, either via an app on your phone or actual GPS units like gramin stuffs.

Doesn't Google Maps limit a route to 10 waypoints though? That might not work for everyone and certainly won't for me sometimes. I even break my route into legs before loading my GPS so if I do screw up the "recalculating" doesn't take too long.

    Appreciating the feedback.

@spencermarkd I Jumped on Rever since I am a pro member. Really its about setting up on the laptop it would seem. Everything is very intuitive there. I'll have to set up a couple test runs around home prior to the trip, but I'm encouraged. I do have two phones, so @nd4spdbh a lot of what you suggest makes good sense.

Set up Sunday's ride. Gonna leave the tail for Tuesday when it's likely less overrun.

Just got back from my dental appointment. This was just the record taking/ mouth scanning. Was pretty quick. Now they send the imaging to build a case file for surgery. My surgery appointment date is June 7th so pretty quick.

Hope it works well for you. I'd recommend getting your rides in before the surgery. I don't imagine a helmet chin strap is gonna be a viable thing after mouth surgery.

I am really not too worried about riding right now. There will be plenty time to ride after healing.

just a couple of things tbh
I've been getting sick of my icon air flight... It's a cheap (even thou it was 450!) and awful feeling helmet that tbh I've hated using... So new helmet time! Went with this dual sport one for best of both worlds

Probably. But I think thats "per layer" so you could setup a singular map with multiple layers for different sections of the same route, export it all in one file.

Wife and I went out for coffee on the S10 yesterday through the twisties. I’m always amazed by how little the bike cares about extra weight. I still had a lot of fun and was able to get on it a bit in the twisties.

The rear tire is looking very suspect though lol. I dont know if it’s going to hold up for another 1k miles to get to 10k. I have another rear tire ordered, and have been amassing all the parts to do the valve check, including a full shim kit I borrowed from a friend. I’m really hoping I don’t need to adjust anything but just want to be prepared in case I need to. I also got a new air filter and spark plugs, and will be changing the oil and rear end gear oil as well. I’m hoping to do it in the next few weekends before my track day.

It is quite amazing how little it cares with a pillion. Was able to ride 750 miles of two up last summer with my ex over like 4 days all twisty roads in northern ca, both of us had a blast.
