Just finished my buddies DMZ SUA last night. Took it out for a brutal 30 mile run thru Johnson Valley from Camp rock Rd at Anderson lake to Giant rock. Pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. 90+ degrees scares away those without AC.

Doing a rear disk brake conversion on a 3rd gen 4Runner since backing plates are apparently made of gold. Purchased a trail gear kit for a 1st gen taco- 144039-1-KIT . Any reason why that wouldn’t work? Can’t imagine the mounting points being any different between the two…

Should - probably 1st gen Tundra also as the flange bolt pattern is common across the platforms and 1st gen Taco / 3rd gen 4runner rear shafts can be swapped on specific axle specs (e locker / non elocker is one of the differences)

Nice, thanks! Looks like I’m in the clear. Saved a big chunk if it does indeed fit.

Do you guys do anything special for alignment over the standard? Mine keeps slipping. I have a camburg 3.5, marlin crawler tab gussets. I don't think I'm bending anything, I think it's loose.

For example, my steering wheel was a little to the left this morning. I hit a pretty massive pothole and now it's pointed to the right.

Sure it’s your lower alignment cams — Have you marked them and seen the change ?
Do you have the tundra rack with offset bushings ?

Sounds like a steering rack problem rather alignment. When racks start skipping teeth this is exactly what they do.

I was able to gain about 2.75" lift in the rear. My hope was for 3" up to 3.25" but this will work. The ride home was much improved. All the weight and the new leaf pack additions and the rear JD shackles are causing to much stress on the eyelet leaf causing them to lift. Jeff at Deaver's is going to build a custom new set of leafs reinforcing the rear eyelet to be able to handle all the weight and shackle design. It will probably be about four weeks for those to be ready. Unfortunately Jeff said I should avoid wheeling with it for now.

    Before new leafs.

Semi-related: what RTT is that? It looks pretty slim top to bottom.

Awesome, I was looking at that for a hard-sided option.

Truck looks great. Stoked to hear how the new springs turn out for you.

Thanks can't wait to get out for a test run, Going to be a long 4 weeks!
The Ikamper hard shell is so much better than the Tepui soft shell design that I had prior.

Deaver is going to make a custom leaf pack with reinforcing the eyelet leaf possibly 2nd and 3rd leaf as well.

I wonder what kind of spring rate them babies will have? Betting nearly double that of an HD. Going to be one thick and heavy ass pack!

I will share the details once it's complete. But yeah expecting it to be a thick ass pack. I hope it can maintain the good driving qualities it has now.

I don’t see why you wouldn’t. Though, you’re probably gonna want to lower that shackle to the bottom hole. I can’t see a pack of that rate not hurting down travel at least a little bit. Curious to see if Deaver eventually just releases a spring catering to the really thick gals.
