Going to help the girl who bought my R3 how to do a pre ride check tomorrow. She also has a FZ-07 forsale and she wants me to make sure it’s ready to sell.
Here is my pre check list
    Tire pressures
Check tires for nails screws cracks ect.
    Chain adjustment and lube
Throttle snaps back full lock to full lock
    Check oil
Check under bike for any leaks wet spots
    Check fuel
    Check brakes and fluid level
    Check clutch operation
Make sure license plate is tight
    Clean face shield on helmet
    Clean bike windscreen

    Anyone have anything to add?

make sure lights are operational? headlights, signals, brakes

I would also add to check the clutch cable for wear/fraying, as I had one of those go just as I was coming home. would have been much more expensive if it went mid-ride

I would add throttle free play/clutch free play and just a basic nut and bolt check on the important fasteners. That'd be a good thing in my mind for her to do as you're checking the rest.

If you do need to make any adjustments make sure to start by putting the engine on TDC so you have all timing marks lined up before you do anything. This makes rechecking after adjustment a bunch easier as you know where your marks are or should be. If you do make adjustments, I'd suggest doing what the FJR crowd does and set every valve to 70% of max clearance. If the ST is anything like the FJR you might never have to adjust them again once set to that spec. Good luck! You got this.

Thanks! I did the Versys valve adjustment a few years ago and it was fine till it blew up 18k miles later (I’m assuming that wasn’t my fault!) so I’m not too worried about doing it, just have too many projects piling up right now. I still need to clean up the KTM and install the chamber delete before the track day next month, too.

18k later has nothing to do with your valve check in all likelihood. If you'd screwed it up it wouldn't have lasted that long. Think about it.

I haven’t had a dog in 24 years. I really want one but don’t want one at the same time. I know what the responsibilities are I think that is why.
When I was growing up from age 8-15 my mom raised and showed Collies and Shelties. We had at one time 15 dogs. I did dog shows and had to feed and clean their pens. Well my brother and I had to as part of our chores. Watched multiple litters born and assisted. I absolutely love dogs and I think that is why I am so hesitant. I know what it takes. I respect good dog owners and it is sad when they pass.

I love dogs but have chosen a lifestyle that makes not having one of my own a better choice. I ride too much and for too long to be sure of being home in time to let one out or feed it the way a dog deserves and I'm not willing to change my lifestyle. We have 2 cats and that works well for us with our love of travel. Long weekends are simple and even if we go away for longer we have neighbors that will help us out. We dog sit for friends and neighbors so we do get a little bit of canine time in our lives.

I'm also at a point where the loss of a pet hits me too hard.

Got feeling a little bit better yesterday and went out to a sushi shop we both really like. The new helmet is amazing thou! Pretty silent and very very light! Plus it looks cool AF lol sadly no gold visor for it thou...

We did find a helmet for her buuut she didn't want to buy it until she got her first paycheck from her new job in a couple of weeks so she will just have to use this crappy one we got.

For being a cheaper house brand, I have been really impressed with the comfort and quietness of the Sedici helmet I have. The fact you can get some with a Snell rating suggest that they are pretty well designed as well.

I must have read it wrong. If you had a deal and agreed on the $6800 price then I would have considered it sold.
