    This is a clean install.

I've already installed a Mini Dash Cam but would have pursued this first.

    Live and learn.

For those that have these, how are they working out? Happy with it or wish for something else?

Mine has worked 10 months with no problems at all. It is not the clearest option for reading license plates but does what it says. I added a Garmin circular polarizing filter over the lens which does help substantially with sun glare.

I attached it with some Bondic adhesive (UV cured resin) which I was experimenting with at the time. So far it has held without issue. Essentially any reasonable adhesive should work including epoxy. I like Bondic because it is instant and is nearly permanent until one tries to peel it off, at which time it releases without damage to the underlying surface.

I am just curious, how does the rear cameras do with TINTED (70%) rear glass?

I'm ready to pull the trigger on this FITCAMX 4K

Update: wife said she would take my Mini Cam and I could buy the clean install one.

Maybe she said that cause it’s my bday?

I just installed the 4k Front in my 2023 LTD. Very easy to install, just follow the instructions and take your time.

I have not installed the rear camera yet - a couple challenges to solve. Have a cap and a tinted rear window hatch (ARE cap). This thread has helped solve the cable routing- will route from under a front seat grommet up through a rear taillight well(I think).

Rear camera is interior only and i don't think there is a way around the tint without cutting out a lens hole (won't do) on the interior. Is there a low profile exterior housing to protect the camera to put on top of the cap?

The front looks nice and oem installed.....quality is good and app is simple.

Appreciate any suggestions on the rear camera challenges!

    Thank
    /jd

I bought the fit cam x, Front and rear and haven’t installed it. I’m currently doing sound deadening before putting some of my interior back and was planning on installing everything at that point. I have an AC, without a shell / topper at the moment.

I was planning on just pressing it against the window as high up as I could get it to help with the angle over the tailgate.

I will say that when I drove yesterday, Less than 15 miles total, I witnessed three road rage incidents that are beyond the normal nonsense I see on the road.

I had been having issues where the camera would only record for 8 seconds, tried getting new software through the manufacturer, to no avail. I had purchased it through Amazon, and got the 2 year protection plan, and just short of the end of the contract, I messaged the plan, and they said they would give me my money back after I sent it back. Re purchased another and got reimbursed and have not had any trouble since.
