Mine has the same issue and it definitely not normal separation.

The wiper arm shadow is messing up the pic causing some issue. Others just have issues lol.

Did the OP change the original post? I thought he had another pic focusing on the 1/2 inch plastic strip at the bottom of the windshield.

This is reasonable. The trucks are now also expensive to purchase, so I wouldn’t shoot the messengers.

Besides, we already went through this QC drill back in 2016. Fool Toyota owners once, shame on you, fool them twice…

New old guy [OP], thanks for posting. I checked mine and all is good. No separation. Must be the Monday/Friday factory worker assembly syndrome...

I guess I am a moron, as I cannot see it. Thank you for the explanation though.

No messenger shooting, I appreciate the OP for catching the discrepancy and taking the time to post.

Not that it's relevant to Toyota. I prefer the wipers, and wiper function of the Ford Transit over the F-150. The wipers make less noise, and the wiper speed increases when you get on the brakes.

If its what I think hes talking about, its not a really true seal. That base plate sits up against the windshield with that rubber edge and in the middle bows out and can create a small 1/16-1/4 gap. Happened on my Turd gen. Didn't care then, didn't hurt anything.

That is called the cowl panel and if I'm understanding him, the rubber edge is separating from the hard plastic panel. Those panels are hard plastic and have the rubber edges molded to the plastic. So I'm assuming the molding process was not up to snuff and the rubber wasn't fused to the cowl panel correctly.

I noticed the same issue with the seal in the middle a few days ago. Mine only has the issue in the middle, not on either side. I may try sealing it with some silicone.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Glad the dealership took care of you @New old guy!

I'm here in Olympia, too - the dealership here is actually pretty great; they've always been helpful and their part dept. is actually cheaper than most online retailers (for OEM parts anyway).

This is correct. It's the cowl vent panel, and the strip at the bottom does not attach to the glass. Is not going to hurt anything at all. Totally understandable to be annoyed with it on a new vehicle, but it's not something to be concerned about from a safety/performance/functionality standpoint.

This is one of those things I could easily over look and move on, I think.

Then there's the situation where the OP might not have made his first payment yet. I wouldn't want my new truck falling apart already.

Completely agree, can't blame anyone for being annoyed by it on a new vehicle.

Would have been nice to show an actual picture of the defect.
