My woodworking work bench project is on hold for awhile. I have to do some repairs and work on the garage, new windows and framing for them. And a new entrance door, it never had one so I have to cut the opening and frame it in. I have days of work already into it just Clea ing stuff up so I can get to the wall from the inside. Previous owner built a workbench and screwed it to the wall, no rear legs, so I have to tear that out too. I have the first week of June off to work on this.

I know the feeling. My fun projects are also on hold while I case and trim a dozen new windows and rebuild a few other windows and sliding doors. Fun times.

Dry fit of chair shaped object. Still lots of sanding and gluing. Then build #2 and finish them both.

Has anyone seen color spalted paper birch? I went to a bandsaw box class and the instructor brought his own wood for us to use (he milled and dried it himself). I saw this block that was just stunning and grabbed it fast. In the pics they may look a little wet - I rubbed some DNA on them. After the class I asked if I could have the remains if he didn't want them. Came home with a good size block and the leftover from when I cut my box. Those will be used to try various finishes... I'm thinking of emailing him to see if he has more he would sell.

Anyone have a Delta 36-725t2 table saw that can tell me how far they can get the bevel adjusted to? Mine hard stops at 45.5 degrees and I cant for my life figure out how to get it to 45. Or if anyone has any ideas.

I've tried adjusting the bevel stop screws on top of the table as well extending the threaded rod to ensure it was not running out of threads.

I almost think the motor assembly is contacting a support rail welded to the saw frame. I'm going to look at that when I get a chance to verify.

    Thanks!

Yeah I already watched that. I'm pretty good with the google machine and have not really found anything that helps. But thanks!

Brand new blade and its straight as an arrow. So last night I clearanced the frame a bit where the motor casing was making contact, and no dice. I'm so ticked off, I've had this saw for 4 years and its fantastic, never needed to cut bevels before so I didnt know it was an issue. I am going to take the whole freaking thing apart and figure out where its binding up.

Not sure how its mounted but maybe has too much material from factory on the motor that doesnt let it go down far enough. Or on table itself? Thats the only thing i can think of

I think that’s what he was saying he was going to tear it down and sort that out today

I’m curious if there’s a burr or something on the threads that are causing the issue?

If I remember correctly my old craftsman had stop collars on the shafts that could be adjusted by loosening a set screw and re positioning it.

Thats the mystery. I've checked almost everything I can see without flipping the saw upside down. Which is the next step.

This saw does not appear to have stop collars it uses stop screws that are adjusted from the top of the table. I've completely removed the screw drive adjuster and inspected it, also attempted to reposition it to gain additional length, but the motor assembly is being stopped by something.

I'll probably end up with a pile of parts on the floor this weekend and a $4500 bill from SawStop on the way.
