    Suspension

I bought a 2017 Tacoma a couple years ago, this is my 3rd taco but my 1st one with any modifications to it. I’m pretty ignorant on all things suspension lol, is this a good set up overall ? Dont do much off roading, just asking out of curiosity more than anything.

Definitely due for some service, but the bones there are good. Is the damage to the rear shock something that was acute, or is there something scrubbing there?

I noticed that when i took the pictures appears to be just cosmetic! When you say service what exactly does That entail ? Like I said im pretty ignorant on when it comes to these things.

My rear piggyback shocks had similar damage when I removed them to change suspension, mostly appeared to be cosmetic damage to the housing from debris that gets kicked up from the road. I also run Fox on my truck they're very good offroad at running very fast, Fox makes a lot of performance offroad racing suspension stuff.

I believe everything Fox makes is rebuildable, so if the suspension feels like its riding poorly or the shocks are very noisy they may need a rebuild - it's much cheaper than buying and replacing though. I'd check out the UCA joints too, I don't know what type Total chaos uses though I'm sure someone else more knowledgeable here does and can say what servicing they may need.

How old are your tires? Interesting cracking going on there.

Tires are about 1.5 years old, will be replacing them very soon for that reason.

So the suspension was all on it when you purchased it? How many miles have you put on since purchase?

The uniballs can be serviced by you. Here's a guide for you.

The shocks probably could use a rebuild as well. Generally, the service interval on them is around 50k. That would require pulling them off and sending in to a facility who does those.

Looks like the resi was clamped lower before and must have chafed on the parking brake cable.

The tires don't have much time left given the degree of dry rotting. That's probably the most critical item on this truck from what we can see in the pictures.

Yeah tracking the tires need to be replaced, the trucks about to sit for a few months while I’m away for work so will be replacing them as soon as I return. It won’t be driven much while I’m gone but started regularly during that time.

^Looks like you live in a dry desert environment? Not a speck of rust under a 7 year-old truck, but rubber and plastic parts get sun damage quicker.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
    But are they cool?
