Just a thought. Since you are changing to a synthetic line from cable is the rest of your recovery gear going to work with the new line? Asking because I have heard that things like snatch blocks shouldn’t be used with synthetic lines after being used with a cable. Basically it comes down to making sure the surfaces are smooth enough for the synthetic fiber.

You can also some more compact stuff if you are using synthetic, like one of the recovery donuts with a soft shackle instead of a big heavy snatch block.

I have 3 donuts and 4 soft shackles but have never had the opportunity to use them. If I had a 4th donut, I could do this.

I think you can winch backward with three. But, you pretty much need to have trees in all the perfect places.

 

I have a military style first aid kit with severe burn and hemorrhaging wraps.
I have never had the opportunity to use that, either.

 

With all them donuts someone might think you're a cop.

You can actually do it with 3 (same setup without the one on the side) if you get lucky with tree placement

Also you definitely need some extensions for this.
