Some people just pour their apple concoction directly into their pie crust; I cook it first to create an apple fruit pie filling before putting it into the crust

    20240529_171357.jpg

Little bit ot water and cornstarch, then simmer until most of the water is gone leaving behind a nice gooey caramel

    20240529_171549.jpg

Now to finish the crust while the apples cool

We postponed it a day, so we're leaving tomorrow morning same flight details. Her cough has been better throughout the day, got some kids Robotussin that has definitely helped. Didn't realize she could have that yet but they can starting at 4 apparently

Glad she is doing better. Flying with a kid is definitely going to be a challenge. I am sure everyone on the plane was thankfully you didn't make Sofia fly feeling like that.

The apple filling is a labor of love

    The dough is a chore

I missed a single weave, who cares

The dough was starting to melt in my fingers so I had to work quickly

Egg wash for shine, butter for flavor

Now to drink while we wait

That's good to know. I would much rather have manual controls like the Tacoma. Much less to cause problems.

Here are some of the refreshments for this weekend's LC Club party—20 cases of beer from the sponsoring brewery + 10 cases of conventional beer. We're looking to have 720 cans of beer for roughly 90 adults.
Case of Monster Energy Drinks, Orange Juice, healthy kid drinks, another 120 qt cooler.

Disagree. Auto controls are nice, set the temp and forget about it. I know there's this fee of things failing but it's not that complicated of a system.

Had to feed the kiddo so I was 5 mins late to pulling out the pie; still good though!

The dark brown is the egg wash, not the crust

Huh, I'm curious what kind of charcoal needs capturing in a steel box - does it have a tendency to make a break for it?

Looks very nice though, I'm sure he'll be pleased with it.

Definitely still wanting a table here. The hard part is making the time. Too much going on. Spent a bunch of time last weekend rigging a friends Hyundai so she can drive it to work after tiktok idiots tried to steal it and fubared the steering column. All the picknpulls, despite having a dozen of the same car, are completely out of the steering column parts I need to make it right. Soo...its neutered, but at least still starts with a key.

Naw just for catching all the crap as it'll replace one he has now on his other grill setup.

It's removable as he just modified his old grill (instead of replacing it) cause the other one rusted out. It used 18 or 20 gauge side walls, and would live outdoors for many, many years so yeah.

You know, I'm thinking of both making a CNC table out of extruded aluminum as the base, as well as buying a larger one.

The pre-built won't be for awhile though as it'll cost me upwards of $8-9k but the DIY would be cheaper as I'm just waiting until I can score an old Mach 3 setup (used) or just piece everything together myself when I feel like it.

No limit switches, no extra doodads, at most just X, Y, and Z with ohmic sensing (maybe).

Consider what your cost should be, and what you want, cause even DIY can run you as much as a turn-key setup.
