$62k is not even that bad. You can spend close to $100k on a top Tacoma in Canada these days OTD.

Yep. RobMotive (cringe...) showed the "not full size" spare on his new truck. Of course, it was all good. He's one of the poster children for Tacoma Fanboys of the World.

    Not that bad? Seriously?:)

IMHO Just because these Tacomas get up to 100k these days, which is completely insane, doesn’t mean it’s “ok” to spend a 100k They are not worth even close to that and Toyota USA needs a reality check. Their sales are down 60%, it’s a pretty clear indicator that most folk do not want this overpriced “lifestyle” truck.

I’m sorry but one has to be an idiot to spend that much on a truck that has plastic skid plates, no full size spare and only comes with 6gal of gas.

They took away things that were standard on all TRD 3G models. Such as:
    Dual climate control
    Side turn mirrors
    Full size spare
    Sliding rear glass
    Metal “skidplates”
    Full tank of gas

In order to get dual climate control, hood insulation, turn mirrors and rear sliding glass, one has to get the premium package which is a complete joke. All Toyota cares about is profit nowadays, just like all other manufacturers. Fuck them

Just look how much 2024 frontier and ranger cost, way less then a 4G Tacoma.

Wait, people aren't getting a full tank of gas? I actually drove the salesman to the gas station to fill up. I mean, it was like my 6th vehicle from them, but darn o_O

No telling what lengths individual deals may go, to pad their pockets. But a full tank of gas is listed/included on the window sticker. Pick any random toyota dealer that shows window stickers online and you'll see. It's probably baked into the destination fee (i.e. it's not a "free" tank of gas), but car makers don't give details on the rising prices of those fees (other than the obvious, that freight costs have risen, but that alone doesn't account for how much some of these destination fees have inflated)

My 19 OR doesn't have dual climate control and calling that splash guard a skid plate is a joke. I'm sure the plastic does as good as a job as the metal one that I could bend by hand on my 19. You've turned into the 2nd genners you'd get so mad at for posting this same shit in the 3rd gen forum.

Turned into 2nd genners? Whoa now. Let’s de-escalate the extreme rhetoric before people start bringing each other’s mothers into the conversation…lol

Seriously though, I think most of the 2 million or so Gen3 owners would agree that Gen4 is a decent truck offering significant improvements, myself included. However, Toyota chose to price out a lot of previous owners from purchasing a new one, so we see that a lot of the criticism leans toward value & QC, which is justified.

So far we don’t even have 50K actual Gen4 owners yet, so my interest is in how well the new truck sells, and hearing what the new owners have to say over the next year or two, before I’d buy one.

Dual climate control became standard on TRDs after 2020s I believe.

Toyota is cheaping and it shows. They are taking away things that were standard on 3G models. Sales are way down, the writing is on the wall.

I’m not mad, maybe you are? I’m stating my opinion and I hope that’s alright with you. I was never mad doing that haha. I do this cuz it’s entertaining. Choose your words wisely good sir.

I always defended 3G in the “power department”. That’s not the “same shit at all”. If some folks say it’s underpowered or a “turd” then they clearly need to learn how to drive.

    Not at all sir :)

I see no value in it to be honest. Although, as a Toyota fan, I was super excited for the 4G.

I’m perfectly content with my 2018. It’s paid off and got 50k miles only. I tow with it, take long road trips, off-road and daily drive it. It does everything I ask it to.

I’m keeping it till it disintegrates.

I thought the 2024 taco was a coil rear suspension? On that Car Care Nuts video he shows that model of Tacoma with a SUA ( Spring Under Axle) system.

The one Sara is reviewing looks to be a 3 link coil system??
