That's the Gen Z parenting, not my Gen X style parenting I hate all of those participation awards, t.v. / computer screen time instead of outdoors and excercise, sports, hands on building, fabricating things out of metal, wood, etc... there can be a happy median between the two.

 

Nephew is looking for his first cars tells me he want a bmw told him he doesn't even know how to change a tire. Trust me you don't want a bmw stick with a honda or toyota. I've owned 3 vws parts are expensive. Bmw isn't gonna be any better.
@pittim I'm glad I grew up in the time period I was in. Didn't get my first cell phone till I was 18. It's rare to see kids outside playing now adays especially in my neighborhood you just don't see them out and about. Times have changed.
@MidnightRebel07 I agree with the happy medium they need more of a balance between the 2.

 

Although I can't speak on experience cuz I'm childless. And I prefer it that way completely OK with having no kids. I'll just be that cool uncle.

Only working a couple of hours this morning then off to a memorial service for my former brother in law. Was at a viewing last night for a former coworker/boss.

 

Good morning. It's time to mow the lawn.

 

I actually woke up kinda cold this morning with the windows open. Was down to 50° this morning

 

44 here, had to put on a coat. That's northeast weather for you

 

That's for sure. It's been alot cooler this summer than the beginning on last summer.

 

Love this weather, last few days has been great.

 

Perfect day to cut grass. Maybe I won't break a sweat.

 

Morning Pa. Twenty minutes and I'm out of here early. It's the miss's birthday, gotta pick up a few things. Mow the grass, couple cold ones.... Taking her to Clearwater next week for 5 days. Weather looks good sunny, upper 80's into the 90's. Life is good.....

 

It be nice if it stayed this way year round.

 

My family is doing Destin fl in 2 weeks I won't be attending though. Couldn't get the time off. Looks beautiful tho.
