Good news and bad news on LCA bushings.
Ball joint tool works, but it’s too short to get it all the way out. Gonna need to buy bushing pull kill and a torch…

I was hoping to avoid that, mainly because I didn’t want to buy a torch.

There's two spots seeping a little. Glad I checked the board because I forgot I was gonna put a little more silicone into the driver side as it settled a bit and left a gap I should be able to finish off tonight.

I was just gonna run a strip of flex seal along the headboard of the truck bed, shouldnt be noticeable if it works. The butyl tape is tempting, I'll let you know soon if I need to head your way.

Today was nice, went to Hampton beach again, threw out a line for a couple hours and only caught a tan. That and a lot of looks. My gf was like "what are they looking at.. oh yeah, the truck.."

Cheap enough for a propane or a MAP gas torch from home depot or tractor supply

IMG_6926.jpg Both driver and passenger seeping a bit here, I think.

I just want a bit more water tight before building the bed platform. Douglas fir seems like a good choice. Not sure if there’s a plywood type that I should go for. Input requested if anyone has experience in that

No experience on wood types, but maybe some advice on the seepage.

Did you pull the front rail and top piece and seal under that too?

I have so much gratitude toward PVC for the frame. It made assembling the frame so much easier.

For the platform part of it I just got whatever was cheapest at home Depot.

I wrapped mine in their outdoor carpet too, staple gun to hold it down on the underside. Highly recommend.

If last nights silicone and the tape don’t work I’ll have to do that. Just trying to avoid taking off the cap as it’s just a little bit in those two corners.

@GarlicFarts yeah probably going to do the carpet too. I think I want carpet for the cap, so I’m just not sure if I want to have that much carpet everywhere lol

If you plan on doing carpet, any small amount of water intrusion may turn into mold, so I would be careful with that.

Im building a drawer for my open bed and I'm planning on finishing it with oil based polyurethane calking the edges and joints, then painting it with bedliner. I should be building it soon.

Was it decided if it was the 8th or 9th? And was this one the one people talked about camping?

@Chasespeed quick question, should I stick with red tungsten? Welding mild and stainless. I may be welding some 316 for my work soon

Red is most versatile, so, yeah. It'll do stainless, steel, aluminum, ac/DC etc.
    It is radioactive though....:anonymous:
